Who ever had the idea of putting huge blue plastic letters at the entrance of a nature park ... lol. Well, that‘s where the disappointing experience starts.
The electronical door to go through with our baby waggon didn’t work and no staff was present. So we had to lift the waggon ober the foor. The way from the entrance to the lake is very noisy since there‘s a fish farm behind the lake. The closer you get to the lake, the more it smells of old frying oil from the restaurant kitchen. The restaurant with its terrace overlooking the lake is a huge block and anything but beautiful or nature like.
In short: The Blausee, or rather what the Kanderstegers made of it, is a bitter disappointment for which one pays admission.

This place is a total rip off. 12 CHF entrance fee plus 3 CHF parking fee to see a poxy little blue lake with stocked trout and the privilige of being ripped off for a cup of coffee. Stay away, tgere are far better places bearby that are free.

It's such a romantic
and pretty forest lake of an intensely blue
colour of water. I had my Go Pro down into the lake and record the fish swarming around my camera which was amazing. People said too many people on certain time but fortunately it wasn't as crowded as expected since it was cold and raining. If you're a fan of instagrammable place, then this is your play ground.

We paid for the tickets but we could not even make it to the lake as the path leading to the lake is NOT wheelchair accessible. The path goes up and down steeply, making it impossible to push a wheelchair on the path. The lady who was working the ticket booth was dismissive and not helpful.

Traffic everywhere to get there. Place is packed with people around a tiny fake looking lake. Sad boat going around with people queuing hours for a 10 min slow ride. Picnic areas as well as restaurants are infested by flies and wasps you can’t even have an ice cream without been attacked. All this suffering comes even at a charge of 12 CHF pp! If only reviews were more honest people wouldn’t get in this trap!

Switzerland is known for its fantastic landscapes. Wonderful alps, beautiful forests and amazing lakes. And the “Blausee” in Kandersteg belongs to one of those amazing and unique lakes. Take your camera with you and do some nice photography there.
There is a beautiful legend behind the color of this lake. If you are interested in the legend, feel free to have a look at my website.

The Blausee nature park is a place you need to see when visit Switzerland. The entrance fee is CHF11.00 per person. There is a lake and a forest to see. The lake view is outstanding, water is crystal clear and you cannot take your eyes of it. There is also a small coffee shop to enjoy a drink by the side of the lake. If you approach place by car you need to pay extra the parking, parking cost is CHF5.00 for four hours.

Pretty lake, I'm not saying the opposite, but driving 2 hours to see a duck pond is clearly not the idea I had. But I admit that the snowy landscapes put a little smile on my face.
Luckily entry was free...
A tourist trap. Lots of Chinese photo photo ^^
The little snack is very expensive and the waitress is as smiling as a barn door.
To flee......

Huge fair, small lake, nice to look at: But the entrance fee of CHF 11.— per person (on weekends it is 13.—) is totally over the top. We didn't go to the restaurant, where the prices were also over the top.
We weren't interested in the boat trip, but a correction to another comment: This doesn't cost extra, it is included in the entrance fee.
A visit is only recommended for tourists who have no intention of exploring the beautiful Bernese Oberland in any other way.
But for the clever owners it is certainly a rich goldmine!

The lake is nice but also quite small. Those who have a choice should visit Lake Oeschinen not far away instead. I found the entrance fee of 13 francs very high for what was offered. In addition, there may be the price for parking. Around the lake there are barbecue facilities, a restaurant, a café and a meadow where alpacas are kept. The entrance fee includes a trip on a rowing boat across the lake, but in some cases you have to wait longer.

Hello! I intend to go with a friend at Blausee at the end of March. We would like to know if there will be snow or not. We are actually dreaming of those green-full views, so kindly let me know. Thanks!

is it possible to bring your own picnic and maybe use the fire places for a sausage or so (like anyone would in any other spot in Switzerland)
Written September 12, 2019
Yes. There is special place in front of the lake for picnic.
You can just bring your own picnic and you can use the fire places.
Enjoy!
