Let me tell you one thing first, there are lots of parking space available at this waterfalls. Dont settle for the first parking you see.. parking facilities are there just beside the ticket counter. Climbing the hill towards the falls is very difficult so, dont hesitate to take your car or any other vehicle towards the ticket counter.
You can take bath in the falls, the premises are neat, but facilities like toilets or dress changing rooms available near meenmutti falls wont be clean as expected.
Even at noon the climate is good around the end of the year but suncreen or a shade might help you.

Awesome place for nature and trekking lovers. A bit difficult trekking with help of ropes. But It was the best trekking I had done till date. On the way also you will find small small places where water is coming through mountains, and you can enjoy there as well....

The flowing water was quite less in the falls, but government has made arrangements to trek upto the highest point of the waterfall. Please dont expect any hi fi arrangements - only a few guards standing and ropes tied to various rocks and trees with whose help u can climb up. The trek is pretty steep and one needs to be careful.

We were told there are several Meenmutty falls.... apparently it is a common name. This one is close to the Banasura Sagar Dam. The hike is short but quite lovely. And big parts of the last portion of the hike are climbing on rock faces with the aid of ropes tied in a very creative yet helpful manner. Our kids aged 6 and 10 also did it easily and had a great time - quite a sense of accomplishment also!

Located @ around 15kms from the Entrance Gate, needs a good Off Road Jeep to reach to the Top.
Take Permission from the Aralam Wild life Warded to enter this place, make sure you visit in groups larger than 10, make sure you visit this place in broad day light, quite a risky trail in the off hours, habitat to a variety of deadly venomous snakes and stuff.

We had planned to go the Chembura peak but due to rains they said we not allowed to go to the top.So we decided to go to this falls but we were too early so we had to leave disappointed.Luckily we got the phone number of Mr.George working with the forest dept as guide.
The next day we were asked to come at 7.30 we did not know what to expect. We were warned about leeches the day before itself and as it was raining we were apprehensive. But still George was therein his forest uniform and we started on the trek. we had rubbed lemon grass oil on our legs for the leeches. The greatest worry was three 6 yrs old with us on the trek.
We booked for half a day trek costing Rs.1300 and went on.The kids enjoyed it totally the leeches bit them and all of us but we were careful to get them off at time. George was very caring and took care of us at all time the kids especially. He had salt in his hand and rubbing the salt got the leeches off.The trek was steep but the kids managed and with George's encouragement we went on and on. We got to see Malabar giant squirrel, giant snails and rare netted stink horn mushrooms. After we had trekked for 3 km we reached the grassy forest there you do not find leeches every one was relaxed and had a great view of the Banasura sagar and made a nice picnic on the top on a flat rock. The view and the weather there was worth the climb. The climb down was easier and fast.We were all hungry by the time we reached the falls it had taken us 3 hours.
To our surprise the shops had opened and had hot Maggie noodles and bread omelette. The kids loved the food.We got our tummy full and then trekked to the falls. The falls was with medium flow of water we enjoyed a private special area reserved for us by George .We had a great time in the water and the falls. The best trek we had and best time together at wayanad. It is highly recommended for people who love nature.Go prepared with dress to have bath and for a dry changeover.Mr.George's contact number is 09747982612

1. This one is near vaduvachal and no access to public. You can climb "Neelimala view point" and have a beautiful view of the waterfalls. You can get a jeep to reach this point and again around 500 mts to walk.
2. Other meenmutty falls is near banasura dam. We need to trek 1-1.5 km to reach TE falls. It is totally safe and you can enjoy in the falls.

Where is the three-tiered Meenmutty Falls located? Near Banasura Sagar Dam? Or near Neelimala Viewpoint?
Written January 18, 2017
This is located near Banasura Sagar Dam (~2.5 kms away).
First two stages are OK/moderate and last stage is little complex to trek.
There are ropes installed using which people can climb up the rocks.
Note: Do not expect falls in full swing (atleast the case in Dec16).
Written January 19, 2017
yes you can but not at the top.after walking one km from the gate you can.
