I visited Jokulsarlon in August 2019. It is a beautiful location and I would recommend visiting it. However, I would advise you to be wary of booking the amphibian tour. I booked for my friend and me on the actual day in their office with a credit card. Unfortunately, the tour was cancelled at the last minute because of bad weather. The tour employee assured everyone who paid by card that the refunds would be done automatically. I spent 3 months sending e-mails and calling the tour office to be told my €85.90 was refunded, although it hadn't been. I finally received my refund in November thanks to my own bank reversing the transaction. If you want to do the amphibian tour, I would recommend paying for it in cash on the day and also ensuring that you get your cash back on the day if the tour is cancelled. Iceland is such an expensive country that you're going to spend a fortune there anyway without having totally unnecessary stress in relation to refunds.

While on a road trip from Reykjavík to Southeast Iceland with my family, and stopping over in Höfn, we decided on a whim to take the amphibious boat tour. I had done it once before, in 2014, and it was such a memorable experience that I wanted to go again! We had incredible weather and a boat full of Icelanders who were exploring their own country more than ever before. Our guide was a French young woman who was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and made the experience even better. It was my daughter's first time on a boat, and although she won't remember it (she was only 6 months old), we certainly will, thanks in part to the wonderful photos our guide took of us. We can't wait to come back again one day!

Pretty cool experience to see icebergs for the first time, and with the backdrop of the glacier. But even more special was visting "diamond beach" where the glaciers float out to sea, and pieces wash up on the black sand beach. See photos. If you found my review helpful I would appreciate your vote.

We took zodiac boat tour and were not mesmerized by the floating ice all over. It's a different experience to see glaciers in the middle of the lake. It's not about the boat tour but with the help of boat, you go to the middle of the lake and see the untouched beauty, highly recommend it. I visited it in 2019.

The zodiac boat tour was definitely very worth it. It took us super close to the Glacier and icebergs, and it was just marvelous and extremely beautiful. only 8 people in the boat. Masks had to be worn, and it was very covid safe!
