Dear not_too_late_to_go, Thank you for the review to Grutas da Moeda. There must be some mistake (which is very common among visitors)... In our caves, the way down isn't so hard as you describe... Also the the maximum depth in Grutas da Moeda is 45 meters and all the tour is walking, very comfortable, so no need for elevator... Maybe you visited several caves in this region, and had some mixed information... Don't worry! it's very usual to do so! :) Still, we are waiting for your visit, the next time you come to Portugal!
