Actually, it started when I asked for an Oaxacan when I walked in, it was like my test - a great cocktail but hard to find, and he was like, no problem, and of course, it was perfect. We enjoyed sharing our preferred tastes with the bartender and then watching them create something unique and personalised to us. I enjoyed a chocolate style margarita followed by something chocolateky and minty!! Quirk interior, good playlists and fun time drinksVisited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten July 30, 2024

Despite this, we were simply blown away by the friendliness and attentiveness of the team. They have no menu but simple ask what tastes and drinks you like. The Bittersweet Bar made our stay at Phu Quoc perfect. Such a great ambiance and warm welcome. The drink is designed according to your taste. The bar tenders know their profession, are very inventive and very happy when they meet your expectations. We were there at 3 consecutive nights and were overwhelmed each time by the drinks they design and their smiles. We will definitely come back and can recommend the place to all serious bar and cocktail lovers

Rumor said that if you visit Phu Quoc Island then you have to taste the cocktail in Bittersweet. This really made me curious about its concept and I was totally surprised because it seems too small at the first sign when I came. But believe me, you will feel the cozy, chic & chill ambiance while indulge your negroni or whisky sour inside the bar. You can't find anywhere else in this island a bar with premium quality comes with long-lasting impressive taste like here.

Hey there! As a proud bartender of Bittersweet, let me just say that we're so happy to hear you enjoyed our bespoke cocktails made with high-quality ingredients and crafted with care. We may not have a menu, but that's because we want to create a unique experience for each of our customers based on their preferences. And yeah, we may not be the cheapest option on the island, but we believe in quality over quantity. Plus, we like to think of ourselves as a hidden gem that's worth discovering. So, next time you're in town, come on back and let us whip up another delicious concoction just for you! Cheers!

No cocktail ‘menu’ which was a good sign… ordered a round of Whiskey Sours which came with snacks & were delicious! We quickly followed with another Whiskey Sour & an Old Fashioned which was equally as good as the first. Again snacks with each round & bottled water available on the table. We chose to sit outside & people watch, inside space was very ‘cool’ & speakeasy style! Wish we’d found it earlier in our stay as it was just along the road from our hotel!

Dear valued reviewer,
Thank you for your kind words about our cocktail bar Bittersweet! We are glad that you enjoyed our concept cocktail omakase and the whiskey sours and old fashioned that our expert bartenders handcrafted for you. We take pride in using only the best ingredients and making everything fresh and from scratch.
We apologize for any confusion regarding our menu-less approach. We believe in providing a personalized experience where we tailor each cocktail to your specific tastes and preferences. This does require a bit more time and effort from our talented bartenders, but we believe it's worth it for the ultimate cocktail experience.
We're delighted that you also appreciated our cozy and stylish speakeasy atmosphere, both inside and outside. We hope you'll visit us again on your next trip to the area and perhaps try some of our other delicious cocktails and snacks. Thank you for choosing Bittersweet!
Best regards,
The Bittersweet Team

Stopped in here about 9 PM on a Friday. First visit. I know it says hidden, but it’s right in the main road and has a good sized sign so….
First impression, the place is sleek and looks great.
Second impression, place was lively in a number of ways, all great. Good sized crowd, but everyone had a table or barstool.
They don’t have a menu, but they know how to make most of your favorites (assuming they have the ingredients) and make a number of things up based on what you like (our bartender made a version of a basil Collins that was incredible). The only downside is it is a bit dark and was loud (I’ll get to that) so I couldn’t catch the bartender’s name from his name tag or when we talked.
Anyway, definitely the best drinks I had in the island and top two or three in all of Vietnam (imho)
It was loud because they had a band playing. Now it’s a pretty small space and a five man group (two singers, a percussionist, bass player and acoustic guitar player) in there does get boisterous and they took up a fair amount of space. Usually, that would ruin the semi-speakeasy vibe of a bar, BUT, those guys were phenomenal! They did mostly/all covers, but the energy and creativity of their performances were really amazing. They pick some sort of obscure songs (or at least I’d think obscure for 20-something guys who’s parents were probably not yet born when some of the songs came out.
The version of “Ain’t no Sunshine” (the Bill Withers classic) made my night. I love the original and thought “uh oh, how’s he gonna do this” when he started, but the man crushed it - hard. GREAT. I was told the band name is Ichi Band.
Anyway, I’m guessing that most nights are probably more speakeasy vibe, but it really did make my last night on the island special. Thank you to Bittersweet and Ichi Band!

While we had dinner at Hien, some of my coworkers jumped to Bittersweet to enjoy cocktails. The design of the bar was elegant by combine classic and modern style. The glass and atmosphere was excellent. But when the ladies ordered the drink, one with fruity flavor, other said she doesn't like it sweet, then the bartender neither asked for more nor recommend flavor at all, just started to make cocktails. For example I like floral cocktails, but it doesn't mean I like elderflower or rose. When the bartender gave drinks, they even gave wrong and didn't check if their guests like it or not, which is not worth for 260,000 vnd per glass (overpriced than 5 stars hotel). So I think the bar already missed a potential customers who loved cocktails.

Hello mate,
I'd like to apologize for your experience. Our concept is bespoke cocktail, meaning we create customized cocktails based on the preferences of each individual customer. We're sorry if our bartender didn't ask enough questions to fully understand the tastes of the ladies in your group. We take pride in using high-quality, handcrafted ingredients and putting a lot of time and effort into perfecting our cocktails. Our prices are based on the quality of our ingredients and the expertise of our staff, and we're sorry if you felt they were overpriced. We hope you'll give us another chance to show you what we're really capable of. Cheers !

Looks a smart place and the cocktails are decent but the cost is extortionate. It all starts with having no menus so unless you ask, you don’t know the price until the bill comes. Almost 600,000 for 2 pina coladas which are far cheaper in the 5 star hotel across the road. To top it off ur was cash only. Recommended to avoid!

Dear valued guest,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Bittersweet. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed our cocktails, however, we're sorry to hear that you found our prices to be extortionate.
We understand that our prices may seem high, but we assure you that it's because we use only the finest ingredients and make our cocktails by hand, tailored to each individual's preferences. It takes a lot of time and effort to master our craft, and we constantly invest in learning and honing our skills.
We also apologize for not having a menu with prices listed. We believe that this adds to the experience and allows us to be more creative with our cocktails. However, we will make sure to communicate the prices more clearly in the future.
Lastly, we'd like to clarify that we do accept card payments. We apologize for any confusion caused.
We appreciate your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to serve you again in the future.
Cheers,
Nhattruong

This bar is simply amazing. No menu, you just explain what you like and then you are amazed what an excellent drink you get. We were a group of 7 and we had such a great time. We ordered 2 drinks each, so 14 in total and all were delicious. Especially the lady (we don't know her name sadly) is a real prof. So focused while doing the drinks and all were really special and great.
