Elephants

It is worth getting up early in the morning as the elephants go to the jungle during the day, take a small rickshaw or taxi, or enjoy the 30min walk to the center from Souraha.

This is a home for the elephants, where they raise baby elephants together with their mothers. It is nice to visit it during sunset; as it is delightful to see the baby elephants prancing around playfully! If you are lucky, you will also be able to see wild male elephant/s (Ronaldo), who visit to pay regards to the ladies there!

You will see plenty of elephants tied on chains and showing an absolut unnatural behavior! These poor creatures are getting breeded painful at a young age. They have a walk in the jungle for 5... Reviewing a place such as the Elephant Breeding Centre is not easy and I think you have to consider the bigger picture and not just what you see or feel on the day. The coexistence of elephants and humans has never been easy but due to a growing population and ever increasing consumption they are being forced in to closer... More

The elephants at this center are bred for a life of abuse and slavery. The hotel owners in Chitwan capitalize n the use exploitation and abuse of these beautiful animals by taking tourists here to see the babies which are all female and which will all be sold into slavery where they will have to walk the park for 12... Not sure it is a breeding centre now. Interesting place to see elephants up close but not sure about the way that they are treated. The little ones are allowed to roam which is fine but the adult females are chained and look as though they have behavioural problems - swaying and pulling at their chains. I would rather see...
