I think this company are nothing what they appear to be. I will never do a tour with them. I would never trust them for the safety of my family.

I am out of pocket over $1,000 for a deposit on a rental that was booked pre-Covid. The owner Dudley Hookong, has died and I’ve been told that my money is tied up in the estate. TripAdvisor is referenced all over BackCountry’s web site. I don’t know why.

I have been trying for months to get my money back and keep hitting a wall.

We did our 4 hours session snowmobile last year in Feb 2020.

It was our first time doing snowmobile. There was a tons of uncertainty but the guide (which I forgot his name, sorry!) did enough practice with us, making sure we were comfortable before heading out to the road. He was guiding for another small group and we were tagging along. He is knowledgeable and safety oriented. He let us know what we should pay attention to and what the machine was capable of doing. We spent our 2-3 hours touring around on our own. We did a big loop in the 200km trails available in the area. We also tried doing max speed on the lake on our way back!

It was a fun time with my girlfriend during family day.

Obviously COVID hits them hard. Kim et al operate a nice business and I hope things will turn back to normal for them.

I would recommend doing a 4 hour session with perhaps a guide at the beginning to get the most from it. 2 hours is not enough if this is your first time. You also want someone with experience to guide you to make sure you aren't freaked out.

My husband and I planned a trip for our honeymoon in Ontario, and stopped on our way up north to go on a 4 hour extreme mud guided ATV tour. It was above and beyond our expectations !!! You really do get an adrenaline rush and was totally enjoyable for the full 4 hours. Time flew by and we 100% will be back, and hope to get Mark again to take us out in the summer!

My wife offered the idea of us doing one of their ATV tours and she had never operated an ATV before. The tour was fun and beautiful as we were there during peak Fall colours and our guide Scott was excellent. Great instruction, attention to safety and very patient with the nubes like my wife who had a great time!
We're gonna try out their snowmobile tour in the winter. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We had a great time on the 4 hour ATV tour in Haliburton! At first we were worried it may be too long, but it was so fun the time flew by. Scott our instructor was also awesome!! We took a few short breaks to stretch our legs and the scenery was picturesque. Thanks Scott for a great time!

What an amazing start to our past weekend little getaway. Scott made our time out on the trials a blast! The instructions were clear and direct which were given prior to venturing out into the trails. This made our adventure that much at ease since we both were beginners to the ATV world. I would highly recommend anyone looking to get out and explore to have a go at this tour group. Originally was going to do the 2hr however changed our minds and did the 4hr - so grateful for this decision as we didn't want the tour to end.

Did the 4 hour ATV tour with Scott Dressel on October 17, 2020. Scott briefed us on the operation of the machine. We then went on the trail, which was a combination of roads and muddy trails. Make sure you bring waterproof shoes or boots, your feet will get wet. Also, bring snacks and drinks. At certain places, you can fully open up the throttle, the machine can hit 60 kph, which is really fast.
I have been two previous ATV tours with them (check my reviews) and they were different that this one.
Will go snowmobiling with these guys in January.

We booked our ATV tour with Back Country and had never been ATVing before. They answered all our questions and made us feel great about our decision.

Scott, our tour guide, was friendly, calm, knowledgeable and well versed. He gave an introduction to the machines, how to use them and then a mini driving lesson before we set out. This made us feel comfortable with the bikes.

We then set out on our 2 hour excursion on the Haliburton trails. There was a great combination of technical terrain, mud bogs/puddles and roadways. We even saw a few deer about 15 feet away from us on the trail!

I highly recommend Scott and Back Country Tours!
