We came in July, and waves perfect to play in. Beach was clean and not very busy (off season), but so nice to relax on. Lots of shops close for food and drink.

This is a very awesome beach with little fanfare, so that means that families can enjoy it together without worrying too much about too much attention and too many travelers. There are some great restaurants near the beach, and the sand is clean. It is...More

The beach is overall average. The sand is decent though. Water is not clear, but in no way dirty. There is a lot of waves at this beach.

Beaches in Phuket whilst nice, generally all suffer from the same downside. Garbage washed up on the sand, waste water flowing directly into the sea and shacks and shanties built across them making the sight ugly. Kamala is better than most especially the Northern end....More

This is a quieter beach on one end but walking down the beach one certainly finds enough to do nearer the shopping end. This a quieter beach in comparison to the other busier beaches on Phuket islands yet has plenty of places to eat, there...More

Water is really warm but quite choppy. There are no restaurants along the beach as it is low season but there are plenty of other restaurants along the footpath for dinner. There is still the man cooking corn along the beach and other of people...More

The sand is nice but a large amount of rubbish on the upper beach and in the sea. Their used to be stalls but the local government have removed these and fenced the upper area of the beach with hideous barbed wire behind which is...More

Went there during the low season, the beach was so quiet and peaceful. The water also seems clearer the Patong beach.

After a long trip from Europe to Phuket via Bangkok, we spent few days in Kamala Beach before heading to Bangkok. We truly enjoyed this place at the beginning of the low season. Great beach, nice restaurants, several outdoor massage...everything you need to relax.

Plenty of transport options, you'll find tuk tuks around the hotel entrance and parked on the street. I didn't see a lot of bikes around though. Novotel to Kamala town is about a 15min walk, but will cost approx 200baht... More

Sorry to tell you but it is a long way away so I would recommend a tuk tuk. Hope that helps.

We've just come back from the Sunprime Resort at Kamala Beach, and yes there is construction, no it's not close enough to cause issues. The only real noise was work on the pool, and that was minimal, which should be well... More
