I knew about the Tropic of Capricorn, but I didn’t imagine I would find it on my trip to Jujuy. It was exciting to know that it was in the same parallel as cities like Sydney, Australia, and São Paulo, Brazil. The pottery stalls were a reflection of the creativity and talent of local artisans. Top-rated prices, even in Humahuaca and Tilcara.

This is a quick stop. A large concrete wedge stands in a circle to mark the Tropic of Capricorn, the point that the sun is overhead at noon on the December solstice. It is poorly marked and poorly maintained.

nice signage, easy walk from the side of the road. worth a quick stop for the Instagram shot. You probably need less than 30 minutes tops.

It is a road marker to say you are crossing the Tropic of Capricorn, nothing else. There is nothing to do other then a quick stop of the car, take a pic or two and move on !!

We made a quick stop at this location. It was an interesting statue but certainly not a place you would need to spend lots of time!

It's a fairly uninspiring monument and sign, which is actually easy to miss but for the collection of souvenir vendors out in front of it. Nonetheless it's always good to grab a quick photo when crossing these lines.

We stopped here on our way north to Mt. Hornocal (14 Colores). Its an easy stop off the main highway, then a 20 meter walk to the circle terraced concrete structure marking the 23, 26, 14 degrees of latitude, furthest tilt north of the earth on December 21st.
Of further interest is the surrounding truck farms of corn, carrots, and leaf vegetables grown all through this Rio Grande Valley.

Not much to say. The tropic is indicated by a concrete stone. If you drive fast, you'll miss it. We stopped so we could say that we were there. That's all.

Opposite the very large construction across the road. The latter issited parallel to the Tropic of Capricon. Worth a stop for a photograph.
