It would be a great place to study and reading if it’s not because of the tourists. Basement is for children’s literature and first floor is a bright area and here you can use computer to research online materials. Second floor is quieter and dimmer, with all the woody designs and single seats, this floor makes a perfect place if you want to grab a quick and quiet read. Reading lamps are provided for each seat. There are also table seats for students to study. Overall, i think this is a gem for beitou students if they can’t study at home. I can see quite a few elderly read news and journals here too.

Well worth the train ride from New Taipei to this hot springs town. The library is beautifully situated in a beautiful linear park. It’s wooden design just blends beautifully into the landscape.

Beitou Public Library is famous for its award-winning architecture. It is in the centre of Beitou, near the train station. The book collection is excellent and it has a good range of newspapers. The children's section will keep youngsters entertained while adults browse. The Beitou Public Library offers a fine service to the people of Beitou. Visitors are welcome.

Beitou is famous for its hot springs, some of which are near the library. I have a friend who lives nearby, so I have been there often. My friend loves books, she was a history teacher, and the Beitou library has an excellent monograph (book) collection. You can also read newspapers and magazines. The library is nicely constructed. It's well worth a visit. It's popular with older patrons, who like reading the papers. Youngsters enjoy the children's section.

Beitou Public Library is an architectural marvel. The library is spread out over several levels. The library has a substantial monograph (book) collection. It also has newspapers and magazines for library users. The library is in Beitou, not far from the MRT station.

I like the idea that it is a public library being very accessible to all. I wish we had more time to browse through the titles and spend several hours in this ambience finishing up the book. so cannot comment much on other things, but from its appearance it is very eye-pleasing.

The Beitou Public Library is a beautiful spot, located along the mountain stream running through the city. It was bustling with people on a rainy afternoon- elders reading the newspapers, families in the children’s section, students studying- and the occasional napper. The setting, obviously a community treasure, is warm & welcoming.

Fashioned in the same style as the famed hot springs buildings, this eco-friendly, all-wooden library will make you gasp as soon as you clap eyes upon it. Even better, get caught in a heavy rainstorm which literally sweeps you inside. Find a good book and nestle amongst the locals in friendly chairs offering sweeping panoramic vistas of the lush tropical gardens, and get hypnotised by the soft-voiced curtains of rain.

Are foreigners allowed to visit the museum? Are we allowed to take photos using phone camera?

I would like to know if there's an elevator or escalator in Beitou Public Library?
Written March 8, 2015
Hmm I don't remember exactly because I was there very briefly. You should email the library directly l11@email.tpml.edu.tw
I emailed them beforehand in English to ask about their hours during Chinese New Year and direction to getting to the library. They were very helpful.
