A great place to enjoy the view of the train coming . This is the original rail fir train, but not any more. So, become the tourist spot which people can walk on the rail and it is free entry. Parking is easy .

I saw this place on Instagram and decided to visit here during my trip to Kaohsiung.

However, this place is very inaccessible. We tried to take a bus from the bus stop right outside Fongshan Junior High School Station but found out that the frequency was so low that we need to wait another hour for the next bus. Luckily taxi is available beside the busstop and we took a taxi to this place.

Upon reaching here, we saw many students who came with their school. They are probably here for an education lesson since this place is called Old Railroad Bridge Education Wetland Zone.

There is shuttle bus available at the nearest busstop but do take note of the timing as the frequency is low as well.

This is definitely a great place for photo taking. Be sure to check it out when you are in Kaohsiung.

Nice spot to come here and relax; free entrance.
Wide green park available, you can see locals come here for a walk, petting, picnic, or some other family events.
Old rail section is preserved and you can walk on the old rail track on bridge, and see the real trains passing by.
Great photo spot.
Historical brick kiln house is also just nearby, and you can experience some old time farm building and history. Taiwan local souvenirs are also available here.

... it when there is a grassy spot to unroll your mats on and lay your picnic food down and wait for trains to pass by the new railroad. We have endured the exciting noise of more than 10 trains to and fro and have to stop talking each time until the noise went away.
... it while we eat our picnic lunch, friendly neighborhood dogs sit and wait for bones to be tossed to them. Yes, they wait.
... it when we can stretch our tired legs and enjoy the cool breeze with Kaohsiung friends to talk and just be lazy with for an afternoon. In some windy days, they say they bring kites and have a race who can send them upwind the fastest.
... it that we can walk to the old railway and have a bit of history lesson and take pictures and appreciate how things have change from old to modern so it gets more efficient and faster commuting people and cargo all over the country.
... it that after getting tired of watching trains go by and taking enough photos, we can hit home. We went by private car. The place seems inaccessible.
...it when there is free entrance. Bring food, drinks, camera, coat for chilly days and umbrella, on sunny days..
