Great view on top of a mountain.

We visited the big buddha in March 2017 and enjoyed the view. You could see many different beaches from the top. The buddha is massive!

Quite a mission to get to the Big Budha - we were on a rented scooter so it was quite fun. The history of the construction is very interesting, but it occurred to us that all the collections go towards the local residents living expenses as there is not much construction taking place or has done foe many years. Interesting... More

This was absolutely amazing. We purchased a tile that will be used in the construction and we wrote a message on there. We also got blessed by the Buddhist monks which I will never forget. Amazing experience that I will never forget and nice to know our tile will be there for ever.

View over Phuket town is pretty cool other than that not much to see. It takes some time to get up there and the buddha itself is really big but that's about it. Don't forget to take long clothes as a woman. Closes at 6pm

They just keep building the surrounds to the big Buddha, they must make a fortune from selling the marble tiles.

When visited in April last year, construction was still going on. We arrived at 0845 am in the morning, and one of the first ones arriving. It is very impressive seeing Big Bhudda that close, then you realize how big it is and also very beautiful. My companion who is Thais, explained all the things that I should know about... More

Well, it is a big Buddha. Nice views from the top. It was worth a visit, but not really the most memorable thing I did in Thailand. I was sad to see chained up elephants on the way up. Do not ride the elephants--they are mistreated and not meant to be ridden by people. Take a cab up to the... More

The Big Buddha was on my "list to do" and I'm glad we made the effort. Whilst it's still under construction, it's an amazing statue up close. Great views from anywhere on this hill that will not disappoint.
