When visited in April last year, construction was still going on. We arrived at 0845 am in the morning, and one of the first ones arriving. It is very impressive seeing Big Bhudda that close, then you realize how big it is and also very beautiful. My companion who is Thais, explained all the things that I should know about... More

Well, it is a big Buddha. Nice views from the top. It was worth a visit, but not really the most memorable thing I did in Thailand. I was sad to see chained up elephants on the way up. Do not ride the elephants--they are mistreated and not meant to be ridden by people. Take a cab up to the... More

The Big Buddha was on my "list to do" and I'm glad we made the effort. Whilst it's still under construction, it's an amazing statue up close. Great views from anywhere on this hill that will not disappoint.

Traditional buddha places, beautiful, something that you don't see in Europe. It shows Thai culture and. The wall around the building was impressive with a lot of sculptures.

Phuket's Big Buddha is one of the island's most important landmark on the island. Sits on top of the hills between Chalong and Kata. At 45m tall, it is easily seen from far away.

after 2 yrs, still under renovation. Would be good if they introduce entrance fees 100b, so that the temple can have more income to build the temple faster. Like many temples in bangkok, they charge admission fees to enter . 40 minutes drive from junceylon mall hotels to the big buddha. Drive 25 min more to wat chalong temple .... More

I would say this is a very impressive Buddha, and I've seen a lot of them! It sits atop the Nakkerd Hill and is visible from miles away. It is made of white marble, so you can imagine just how impressive it is. It was only recently completed.

What an amazing experience to see The Big Buddha up close and in real life. It has been one of the highlights of my life. To add to this there are some amazing views of the ocean from atop the Big Buddha site.

The view is nice. There are some shops where you can buy food and drink. Monks to give blessings and lots of tourists. Being there early would be the best time otherwise there will be too much noice.
