This big Buddha invites you forward from his mountain top perch. His smile is beneficent, the space tranquil commanding an impressive view from all sides. Come and absorb the calm . Walk up and admire the perspective from under his nose

Its worth the trip up the hill to see. Its a giant statue of Buddha and not much else but the view is great from the top.

Best to go on a sunny day, since it's a temple, do wear appropriate clothing. Or they'll provide you with a sort of cloth to cover up anyway. Try the unique instrument that produces sound when you rob them the 'right' way. They say those...More

There are no buses that will take you directly to Big Buddha. It's a 40 min trip from Patong so I would recommend. Private taxi and then take in a few other sites . Taxi will be the cheapest in the long run Big Buddha is... More

It'll be a long hike up, and then coming down too. However the path is easy to follow and it's clear. If you are going to hike up there leave plenty of time to get back down so that your not on the path in the dark. When we... More
