This is a nice place to visit to get a quick insight into a Buddhist temple. There’s no admission fee and you can access most parts of the temple. The temple is very nice with a lot of statues and golden objects. Good place to...More

Wat Chalong is the most beautiful Buddhist temple on the island of Phuket. Free entrance. It is one of the largest temples on the island. Great architecture. Put this one on your must see list. Dress with respect.

The temple is very colourful. If you hear crackfires, don't be afraid, they are lit up in a special brick structure, adjacent to the temple. From the terrace, there is a nice view to the island and the great Buddha. You see sculptures: all are...More

In each temple you marvel at the exquisite workmanship inside and outside of the temple. Our stop at Wat Chalong was part of a city tour we did. One of the most interesting activities is the burning of the firecrackers in the furnaces. So if...More

‘Golden serenity’... except for when the firecrackers go off and another bus load of tourists pulls in. Can take this in on a trip to the Big Buddha (which you can see from Chalong Wat)

Was part of a half day tour. Was well worth the stop. Beautiful buildings, we were also lucky enough to watch 2 different Chinese couples taking their wedding photos here.

Lovely visit. Beautiful Temples. Small market near by. Small stall for refreshments. Beautiful river full of carp fish. A cool place to sit. Across the road a lovely air con cafe serving food drinks and small gift shop. Park next to it with large lake.

Going to visit the temples was a beautiful look at the Buddhist culture. We enjoyed watching people pray and we liked hiking up the stairs for the views. The kids enjoyed it, too. Only downside was that it was so crowded.

Hi Iam not sure on the timing however I saw people praying but one can do meditation on the second floor. The place is very crowded through the day and early morning would be the best time.
