An extremely pleasant and magical experience!... Captain Jonas shares a vast array of knowledge regarding the surrounding area, along with a comfortable focus on safety for his passengers and his trusty crew member Makawi who had some wild stories of adventure to tell. Overall good vibes full of humor, connection and excitement throughout every wave and salty wind gust. The boat itself has much character and is perfectly spacious with hang out areas to catch some shade if desired. A sincere passion, love and respect for the marine life and it's environment is felt upon this vessel making for an incredibly wholesome experience to be remembered and appreciated for a lifetime.

Journeys favorites:

1. 8 Orca breaches 🤯, 10 tail flips, 5 Humpback breaches🤯 (guess we lucked out WOW)

2. Read Island anchor & dip (Carribean like waters)

3. Amy's (Jonas's wife's) next level cookies

4. Mila's (Jonas's daughters) lovely Chanterelles
song 🤗😁

To sum it up

DOOOO IT!!!

Stay blessed peeps❤️

One of the most magical experiences of our lives aboard Misty Isles! We did the Whaletown Explorer tour and our minds were blown! It is so much more than just a tour- Jonas’ love and respect for the land, waters and all of it’s creatures is apparent and there is a feeling of being in harmony with nature on the boat more then any other tour I have ever been on.
I grew up on Cortes Island and learned more about the area’s biodiversity and history than I ever did when I lived on island!
The whales must have sensed the positive energy of all on board because the whales came out and put on the show of a lifetime! With the engine off- we drifted while watching Orcas and Humpbacks breach and feed, it was truly unbelievable!! We explored emerald green bays, jumped off the boat to swim, ate delicious cookies made by Amy, and stopped at stunning Shark Spit off of Marina Island to explore the sand bar and swim in the turquoise, warm waters! Lovely guests on board and plenty of room to spread out and find sun or shade! Huge thank you to Misty Isles Jonas, Amy and Makawi for the experience of a lifetime! You guys are truly the best!

Lovely day trip out to Desolation Sound. A big thank you to Jonas, Amy and Nadia for accommodating my mother, sister and me (some physical limitations were overcome by their kindness and help). The swimming was also extraordinary ! If you are on Cortes, this is a wonderful way to see beyond the trees! I am so glad that we were able to support this local business .

We booked the Misty Isles for a group of friends before our wedding. Everyone has been raving about how much fun they had. Jonas the captain and his first mate were super professional and showed our guests how beautiful this part of the world is. Everyone went swimming in the warm salt water, followed by ice cream at the Refuge Cove store. Perfect day.

Beautiful way to explore Cortes and surrounding islands, inlets, desolation sound (depending on cruise you book) from the water. Jonas is a very knowledgable and experienced mariner who welcomes you warmly and guides you professionally. We went swimming, got good quality tea/coffee and homemade cookies!!! We were invited to make the boat our home for the duration of the trip and I am very happy I went on this day trip into the Desolation Sound (5hours) ignoring my doubts (water hasn't become my favourite element just yet and I usually get seasick on boat rides).

The most peaceful, fun, interest-peaking part of our trip to Cortez. We have been visiting Cortez Island for years and finally decided to pay a little more for a cruise to Desolation Sounds with Misty Isles Adventures. It was absolutely worth every penny and more.
Jonas and Tosh were incredibly kind, passionate and informative mariners, historians and naturalists. My wife and I and our teenage kids thoroughly enjoyed the day.
I would recommend this for anyone young or old or in between.

Unbelievably awesome day aboard Misty Isles on an excursion to Mitlenatch Island. Captain Jonas is not only exceptionally skilled, knowledgeable, and experienced, but a super nice guy as well! Scenery was spectacular; swimming off the boat was refreshing on such a hot day; observing and listening to dozens of sea lions was incredible; and being on Mitlenatch, with all its unique flora, was very special. Many thanks to Jonas for making our day so memorable and to Amy for the superb cookies!!

Our family of four had an amazing time with Jonas on our 3-day kayaking tour of Desolation Sound. The itinerary, a perfect blend of relaxation and activity, was a terrific way to get our teens, both aged 16 focused on something other than their devices (though there is wireless coverage in many areas).

We took a water taxi from Campbell River to meet Misty Isles in Cortes Bay, skipping the ferry line-ups. Jonas filled our days with kayaking and the afternoons with shore visits. He had wonderful stories to share during meals and down times. Tosh was a terrific guide while kayaking or hiking, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with the kids. My husband really enjoyed the meals Amy planned, personalized to our dietary needs!

We were very comfortable on Misty Isles with a sleeping area and a head to ourselves. The kids did take the option to sleep in a tent on an islet one night for added adventure. When it rained, Jonas and Tosh placed tarps over the back area which provided enough coverage from the rain but still allowed us to take in the beautiful scenery. We live on the West Coast but were still completely wowed by our experience!

One of our most favourite family adventures EVER! Jonas (our captain /guide / owner) and Tosh (our 2nd guide and helper of all) were both so wonderful, patient and super knowledgeable on so many levels. We ventured the coastal waters seeing whales, porpoises and sea lions; we kayaked with harbour seals and schools of spawning salmon; we hiked to incredible vistas; we swam in fresh water lakes; and Tosh even taught us all how to paddle a log (so much fun). We also learned a ton about our coastal waters of BC, ecology, biodiversity, various species of moss, lichen, ferns and on and on. Then there was the food which was simply over the top. Although we never met Amy (owner and truly a master chef) the food she had prepared for Jonas and Tosh to cook and assemble was simply out of this world. We are a family of 4 (our 2 girls are 16 and 20), we spent 4 nights on Misty Isles (a boat that is well appointed just the right amount to be comfortable but yet not over the top to maintain real authenticity) and we would highly recommend Misty Isles Aventures to all.
