This is one of those walks, Where you feel much better at the end. To begin, As English , We were a bit daunted, with no signs in English, Fortunately other Visitors Told us which way to start, After that we followed some French signs, Got lucky with the sounds of the Waterfall. The walk there really is for fit and agile people,,, Not Mr & Mrs Fatty. The route is ALL Rough, The amount of roots you walk over, is amazing, I have never seen anything like it, Like out of a Horror movie!, Anyway, Near the waterfall you need to cross a river. Choosing the best route is not easy, As often previous walkers wet feet, Will make stones slippery, So look for dryish ones
The waterfall is pretty good, After a lot of rain, It must be amazing,,,But then the path out, will be a nightmare, As you can see deep grooves in the dried mud,,,,Could be a lot of dirty fun.
It was dry when we went, Our trip took 80 minutes, With a 10 min stop at waterfall
Fully recommend, The scenery is amazing

It was a bit a cold day when we arrived at the Source de Sofia.

I saw some running water among the river.

I tried the hot springs and it was a bit warm, but not much.

Then a lady took the hot springs for a long time.

It depends who likes hot, warm or cold.

It was worthwhile anyway. We had fun!

Free to access. The sulphur showers get very busy in late afternoon. Step under the showers and enjoy the naturally heated sulphur wash. Not sure of the medicinal benefits but certainly did me no harm!!

Visited this place today with my friend after driving uphill trying to find it. We eventually did. Lots of local people were using the outdoor shower area's. Once you get over the ghastly smell of 'rotten eggs' you enjoy the experience for what it is.
Wear flip flops as the concrete is uneven and the steps down are quite slippy.

A local lady was selling sorbet and accra's. We didn't buy any -so no idea how they tasted.

Very dirty pool. Impossible to go down there!
There is no maintenance of the site.
Easy parking though.
The only photo taken is of the fresco. The rest is too dirty.

Hot showers in Sofaïa de Sainte Rose are mainly used by locals. This sulfur water would have virtues for the skin and hair.
