We stopped off here after visiting Dunmore Caves. It's good for a short walk and grabbing a few photos but there's not a lot to keep you there for long. Nevertheless, it's worth taking an hour or so to visit. There are information signs throughout...More

Heywood is a little off the beaten track but well worth the detour. The demesne is a lovely place for a quiet walk and the garden designed by Lutyens is an absolute gem, even when the flowers are past their best. From the terraces there...More

Well what can I say. A piece of hidden Irish history. Off the beaten track but worth seeking out. Lovely gardens and love the explanations along the way. Some views too.

This is a lovely place to walk and then to enjoy the beautiful gardens. It was delightful. Free entrance and parking. There is also a clean and new toilet facility.

It was a cold day in November when we visited so no flowers but it was still a nice spot for a Sunday walk. It is nice to see works are being done to improve the site as it is a very interesting place.

Lovely gardens just past Ballinakill on the Abbeyleix road. Parking ok and toilets were open. Pity there's no coffee shop but it's not far to Abbeyleix anyway. Beautiful gardens and totally unexpected as it's in the middle of nowhere. Really well maintained and a nice...More

Been here with my two year old. Loads of space to run around, a maze to get lost in, flowers to be amazed by and if you wanted, a long nature walk to do by the lake.

On pleasant summer's day, we walked through Heywood Gardens. It had been a long time since I had last visited but my husband and children had not been before. My husband and I both commented that it reminded us of the gardens on Garinish island...More
