I visited around 8:30 during Golden Week.
There were quite a few people there, but it wasn't too crowded.
The pier is historic and quaint, and the sea was beautiful.
To get to the site, you leave the paved public road and enter an unpaved sandy road, so sneakers or other such shoes are not recommended.
If you're careful, you can probably avoid getting sand in your shoes, though.

We visited the Nishi Pier when it was raining and despite that, it was still a lovely sight.
Great place to take that Instagram worth shot.
The pier is a little old but the waters surrounding it is very clear.

Or in a commercial or vacation advertisement or something. I didn't think places like this were accessible to humans outside of the priciest of private beachside resorts. Go here.

If you can walk along from the other side of the beach along the shore, not to many people around at the time of our visit, for some stunning ocean views with the wonderful turquoise waters, you can see fish all along the side of the pier due to the very clear water.
Some perfect photo opportunities.

(when the weather is nice). the color of the water is breath taking, and despite the tourists, its still a peaceful spot to just stare into the distance.

It is a very good point to take photos. Very photogenic pier with the astonishing blue sea, light blue, emrald blue,
and dark blue. It is not used as a pier any more and you can see a very beautiful sunset there.

I spent a day biking and exploring Taketomi. This Pier is one of the highlights - great views from the end looking both out at the water and back at land. One of the not-to-miss sites while taking a circuit of the island!

This pier is more like a spot to struggle in order to take a envy inducing selfie in the mass of tourist trying to do the same. The sea is gorgeous, especially if you are lucky enough to come here on a sunny day with cotton candy clouds. Would be worth of at least one more star if it wasn't that crowded.
