About
Roppongi Hills is a commercial facility that includes more than 200 one-of-a-kind shops and restaurants, divided into four areas. The facility has an open feeling with plenty of greenery, where customers can enjoy shopping and dining while traveling around the entire urban area. One of the appealing points of Roppongi Hills is the fact that visitors can spend their time in a variety of ways, owing to the fact that this is a business complex. The shops in this complex are connected by their common identity as part of the Roppongi Hills concept, and strive for a level of originality and quality that can be found nowhere else. - Duty-free: around 180 shops (duty-free counter available) - Wi-Fi: available for free use; service details vary by provider - Methods of payment: credit card (all brands), UnionPay card - Major brands (major shops): Louis Vuitton, Rolex, Estnation, Tsutaya Tokyo Roppongi, Kenzo Estate Winery

The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Akasaka / Roppongi
Not so long ago the Akasaka and Roppongi areas were famous for their nightlife, high-class restaurants, bars and clubs. More recently, with the opening of Roppongi Hills, Tokyo Midtown and Akasaka Sacas, the area has declared itself as the most fashionable spot to be seen. The area also hosts the National Art Center and the Mori Art Museum and lots of trendy art galleries.

    High Quality Stores
Not cheap but HIGH quality stores. We spent a lot of $ on knives, art to bring back home. Top of the line we thought. Favorite store (I do not remember the name of the store) was for kids toys/clothes. People working there were so kind to us. Wrapped the high quality gifts so well, that I I have never seen before. Service and attention were amazing at this store. They even asked to see pictures of my grand daughter who I was buying the gifts for. Forget about that in the U.S.

    Elite Shopping Mall
Looking for something a little different and definitely high-end? This area and it's shops might be for you. Housing TeamLab Borderless and countless fashion and bakery stores, we killed around 30 minutes enjoying the mall. We especially loved the Supermarket. With it's 5,000 Yen melons and amazingly beautiful fruit. The meats were delightful and the Italian hanging hams of Prosciutto lovely. Would we visit again...probably not but it was a great experience.

"Roppongi Hills Art Night 2024: A Magical Blend of Art and Entertainment"
I visited Roppongi Hills Art Night in 2024, and it was a captivating event that blended contemporary art with entertainment. The diverse art installations and performances provided visitors with a refreshing visual experience. Taking place at night, the event created a magical atmosphere as the entire area became enveloped in art. Features like artist interactions and workshops added an engaging, participatory element. While it can get crowded, the experience was well worth it. It’s a fantastic event not only for art enthusiasts but also for those exploring art for the first time.

The Roppongi Hills complex is definitely worth a visit. There is everything, as is often the case in Tokyo, in one place: stores of all categories, restaurants offering almost everything one could want, and we add an important museum, a visitable roof with a breathtaking view, and beautiful gardens. There must also be housing and offices, to complete the whole. It's beautiful, it was at the height of modernism, but the whole thing is starting to show the weight of the years a little.

I visited Roppongi Hills to see the contemporary art of Takashi Murakami, and it was an incredible experience! The area perfectly combines modern architecture, art, and shopping. We enjoyed a coffee while walking around. I also went up to the 51st floor, and the view from there was stunning.

Sake wine tasting with bites of paired delicacies was a wonderful experience at the Intert Wine KxM Yamajin store. The store also has a wide selection of international wines and the store design is beautiful and friendly. This was a surprise hidden gem.

Bring a lot of money as this place is for the those who like the finder things in life. The only thing I bought was a box of band aides at the Tonods drug store. Definitely not those of us who travel on a budget or aren’t all that interested in designer shops.
The outside areas are nice for a roam, but that was it for me.

Business district and a very upmarket area with high rise buildings. Many expats live around here. Reminds me of Canary Wharf in London. Nice shops, very upmarket. Clean and well kept. Lovely eateries and bars as well. Go earlier in the day as it becomes a bit dead later in the evening when most of the workers have left. The area can also become a little seedy and isolated. There is a cinema, art museum and other things on the premises. If you want to get away from the noise and chaotic streets of Shibuya and Shinjuku then this is a good option. Easy to connect to Roppongi Metro station.

The views from this tower is simply amazing and almost 360 degrees. We got our tickets online and at a scheduled time. Went through without a hitch. Staff were very pleasant and friendly throughout.

I went to the Christmas market.
Naturally, I couldn't find a seat at one of the few available, so like last year I had no choice but to eat and drink nearby, but this year I was told by a security guard to leave.
If that's the case, they shouldn't have held an event in the first place.
I'll never go again.

Nice complex of buildings: shopping center divided into several complexes and several floors. A little inconvenient because you have to go out, cross... go up ramps... go down stairs... but lots of shops and lots of places to eat. Also great now during the holidays to take a walk there. It's all lit up, a path of illuminated trees and from there you can see the tower.
