Neighbourhood: Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.

As one of three versions of the Liberty monument in Japan, the Statue of Liberty at Odaiba Port is a gift from France to Japan to strengthen relations between the two countries. Loved by a large number of Japanese people and foreign tourists, the statue has great human significance, bearing a symbol of freedom, peace and connecting the peoples of the world. With a height of 12.25 meters and a weight of 9 tons, this version is only 1/7 the size of the prototype. And it is quite interesting that this version is not a copy of the Statue of Liberty in New York, USA, but it is a copy of the Statue of Liberty in France. The Statue of Liberty first appeared in Odaiba in 1998, borrowed from France as part of a one-year celebration commemorating Japan's relationship with France. Later, because the statue was quite popular, France decided to make a copy to give to Japan, showing goodwill in bilateral relations between the two countries.

I was staying at the Hilton Tokyo Odiaba so the Statue of Liberty was right next to the hotel, but it was particularly pretty at night with the vista of the Rainbow Bridge and the bay in the background. Definitely worth a visit in the evening via Odiaba Metro station. You can also do some shopping at the Aqua City and Decks malls, which are definitely worth checking out also.

This statue located at Odaiba, where you can find Gundam Statue. Its quite far away from central tokyo, but for those who are big fan of gundam, its worth to visit. After all, its one of the iconic place in Japan

Seems strange seeing a miniature but perfect replica of the Statue of Liberty in japan.
A very interesting write up on how it ended up being there, just along from the statue.
A very nice backdrop as well for photos.
Well worth the short journey to see it, also got to see Olympic Rings, which are literally 100 yards from lady liberty.

It's nice to see her, standing there, torch up and in all her glory. I just didn;t expect her to be so small, so weathered (dirty) and not maintained. Oh well, better than nothing I guess. I wonder why she's even here? IDK, but it ws very nice to see that she is. Clean her up and light the torch people!

I was surprised to learn that this is one of many French Statue of Liberty replicas (albeit, most or possibly all being smaller replicas) in Japan, but likely the most viewed because of its location. This replica is here because one was constructed or put together on this site to commemorate “The French Year in Japan,” celebrated from April 1998 to May 1999. Interesting to see what many sightseers associate this statue with, and not France and “The French Year in Japan.”

You may be shocked that this status of Liberty has little to do with the U S.
Tokyo’s own version was temporarily moved from its home at Paris’ Île aux Cygnes to Odaiba in 1998 to celebrate Franco-Japanese ties for a year. Because it was very popular, in 2000 the Japanese government decided to create a replica at Odaiba which next to Rainbow bridge.
Some people said they are disappointed to this small scale of status of liberty but I was happy to see it. I saw the New York one twice and I found it hard as the line is very long in New York. The trip is not easy as it's on another island. Tickets are pricy. To see this small version in Odaiba is easier, especially there is team lab museum nearby also worth a visit. This status is small but that make us easier to take beautiful photos. I have no idea why people complain for a free visit. Anyway, I went there with my mum, and she is over 80 years old and she was happy to see it in her own eyes.

It's juts a smaller version of the Statue Of Liberty. But the amazing backdrop of Tokyo Bay makes it special.

a smaller version of the famous Statue of Liberty you can find here in Tokyo. It should remember the french-japanese friendship. With the rainbow bridge in the background, which looks a little bit like the Brooklyn Bridge it almost feels like New York. For sure worth a foto stop!

Another icon of Odaiba, this seems to always be popular with people taking photos of it day and night. It makes for a great photo, with Rainbow Bridge and the Tokyo city skyline in the background.

You can live without a Japanese girlfriend, but you can't live without trying Japanese girls. Come to Japan for business trips, travel, and relaxation. TG:cc383 and Line:03828. We accept foreigners, and can communicate in Chinese, so you don't need to know Japanese.

Is there any nice restaurants with nice view of the Rainbow bridge around the statue that is not too pricey, pöease? Main course of less than USD 30 / €25 perhaps? Cheers!!

There are 3 big shopping malls, and - walking there - I also missed a nice restaurant and view! If you find one, let me know, I am going back early next year and staying bearby:)
