Within the city borders you can relax in this public pools. Inexpensive, you can bring your own towel & swimwear or rent. Relax with the locals in thermal hot & cold waters, see how Iceland socialising is.. Something to try

We stopped by for a swim in the evening. They have a large pool which is outdoors and heated to a warm temperature. On the one side of the there are are about 8 small hot tubs heated to a very warm temperature. It cost about $4 to swim around for a long as you want. Be sure to bring... More

Enjoyed going to the local pool, where I didn't spot many (any?) tourists. The 100-150 foot run to the hot tubs in the wind and sleet was challenging but well worth it. There are some rules that foreigners aren't used to, such as remove shoes/boots before going into the changing room, and leave towels inside. Great experience to sit in... More

Nicely run facility for the public. The hot pots are plentiful and despite there being a lot of people at the park, it didn't feel crowded. It had a good local feel.

Less then EUR 5 pp (half for kids). The outdoor pool(s) are great and nicely (Icelandic) heated to 28/30 deg C. So even in cold weather you can easily go... More

This is one of the most affordable things to do in Iceland. The pool is heated to perfection and the hot pots are so great to relax in. It is never too busy and generally is not full of tourists despite being so close to the centre. One of the great little things they have is a SWIM SUIT DRYING... More
