Arrived here after a long car-ride at 7pm on a Saturday-evening and were told that the restaurant was closed. No other offerings of food or drinks were available.
The room was cold, with a bare floor, a few lamps but no main ceiling light, and no desk. There was about 10 inches between the wall and one side of the bed. The heater made a terrible noise when restarting from time to time.
There were annoying loud guests throughout the night. No breakfast was offered in the morning. The reception staff of 2 could only say" Good Morning", nothing like " How are you doing", or "Did you have a nice stay with us" I would have said "the stay was lousy and not worth the $ 195.00 we paid for it"

Booked what I had thought was an executive suite with jacuzzi, which is what was advertised on the website, but when I got to the room it was a standard king size. Went back to the desk and was informed that all jacuzzis were removed during renovations. Their reason was that they hadn’t updated their site due to covid. Also, room was next to elevator which was quite loud. I was told the only king size suites were next to the elevators. Waiting to speak to management in the morning but save your money and don’t stay here if you’re looking for a romantic get away.

The golf course is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. We really enjoyed everything about this course, the challenges of the hills, the challenge of their cement-like sand traps, the view of the fog burning off in the morning. Highly recommend playing golf here!

This is a review of the restaurant at The Wilds. We were a party of 8 (adults and young children), and we stopped there for lunch on a rainy weekday in July during a drive out to Bonavista. We ordered several different main courses and dessert, all of which were delicious. The restaurant staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Special thanks to our waitress (Florence), who went out of her way to make sure that the kids had everything they needed.

This is a hotel and golf course located near the Irish Loop. We stayed in one of the chalets. The rooms were very nice (seemed new). Our apartment has a large bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, Iiving room, and a separate room with a large jacuzzi. The main building has a restaurant and a bar (the food is ok). The work out room is not great. The golf course seems decent. It is probably one of the nicer places to stay on the Irish loop.

While visiting Newfoundland I have played a number of courses. The Wilds was in great shape, scenic and fairly challenging. It has a couple of blind holes which I was told about ahead of time. On the day I played, wind was another challenge. A course I would recommend and love to play again.

This golf course is carved along the Salmonier River although the river only comes into view along #9. Most of the holes are challenging with elevation changes, marshlands, gorges and significant wind all playing their roles. The natural beauty is fantastic!
But the course is in very poor condition. Fairways and greens are hard and scarred. Tee boxes are rough, rarely level and oddly positioned. The sand is the traps is rough and has not been rakes properly this season. There are no beverage carts. No course marshals are to be seen even though the pace of play is slow.
It seems that management could care less about the gold experience. Given the potential that is unforgivable.

We booked our rooms months in advance, to ensure we have a room near the convention we are to attend! When we arrived to the resort, we found out they have given our reservation away, they then lied to us and tried to convince otherwise. They then downgrade us to a lesser version of the cottage we had booked, with no acknowledgement of their wrong. We were given a loop around, the front desk tried to lie to and ignore us. I don not recommend, nor are we impressed!!!

We wanted a day of golf on our tour of Newfoundland and this golf and stay day was perfect. Clean & modern accomodations, friendly staff and a great pub with tasty food. The course is challenging or should I say was designed by a sadist! Ravine holes and natural areas abound this course. Very well tended, great shape and I sampled most of the sand traps and found them, well, challenging! You'll enjoy this property!
