In the port area of Zakynthos town and dominating the skyline there is church of Agios Dionisios. In the high orthodox style this building is both imposing and impressive from its clear whitewash exterior to its iconographic interior this 20th creation based on much earlier architecture is worth the visit to Zakynthos town in it's own right and be a... The nicest most venerable building in the whole of Zakynthos town in my opinion. It's a lovely old church right by the Market Square and harbour area. Charming inside and beautiful from without. Well worth a visit.

A most beautiful church. It is the resting place of the patron saint of Zakynthos. It is absolutely gorgeous inside. You must go to the chamber that St Denis is resting in and pay your respects. Every time we go to Zante we visit this church.

Calm place lit with candles light and smelling spirituality is a must visit for all. This holy place is a landmark in Zante Town and can be accessed by foot. This is a very old church which was lately renovated and is in excellent condition. Zante harbor cannot be imagined without this land mark

Visited recently and was highly impressed. It's a lovely little church, with an monastery attached, it has some fantastic Byzantine-style art work and decoration and is a little haven away from the noise and bustle of the town. The saint is interred in a silver coffin near the rear entrance and is supposed to be good a curing ailments -... More

We have been here a couple of times, but this was the first time we had chance to venture inside. As the title says 'awesome' The artistary is well...awesome! I'm not overly religious, however, this was a wonderful experience to see. As stated, it does say 'no photography inside' but as usual, there are the selfish people who think this... More
