Arriving via cruise ship, we booked a small van tour of Acadia National Park. We were met right at the dock and hooked up with Grant, our local guide who had spent every one of his 24 summers in Bar Harbor. He drove us to...More

This visitor center is much like others in our national parks. It has good resources and a film to get you started on your journey in the park. It's very, very busy, though; so, go early to avoid the crowds.

Recently stopped in at the visitor's center...super busy place and it was the offseason! We did all of our park research before arriving, so we didn't really take advantage of the information provided at the visitors center. I recommend getting your passes, maps, and things...More

Like all of the National Parks we have visited, this one is very good. And, the film of the park is well worth the time to view.

We loved Acadia. The visitor's center has maps and are very helpful, but beware of lots of people if you go during a peak time of day. To get from the parking lot to visitor's center there are a bunch of steps, but there is...More

Get in Line with the tour busses these days as this is a popular park and basically ruined by the cruise ship operations into Bar Harbor. Always a beautiful place and there are some areas to get away to enjoy it, but befriend a local...More

Visitor center has information on buses, maps and they have restrooms. Many steps however to get to the visitor center. You pay $25 for a car pass to go around park but can use Annual American the Beautiful pass instead. Worth the drive up Cadillac...More

Acadia National park is one of the most beautiful places in America. It is very unique for a National Park because local residences are dispersed throughout the grounds. Touring can be done on foot or by car. The view from Cadillac mountain is special.

No, sorry. I am going to guess that no matter who you get, coverage will be spotty. I have Verizon and coverage is so-so. I have a Casio and my wife Apple, and though we both have Verizon my coverage was better than hers... More
