Serene beauty of Acadia
May 2021 • Couples
Jordan Pond is an iconic image of Acadia National Park well known to tourists, but you will not find any crowds if you embark on a long hike around the pond (8.5 miles). Tourists mostly congregate on the beautiful lawn behind the gift shop and the restaurant. The views of the tranquil pond, the Bubbles, and the mountains on both sides are breathtaking and soothing.

Keep in mind that you can start your hikes to the Bubbles, Penobscot and Sargent Mountains, and Pemetic/Triad Mountains from the different wooden signing posts not far from the lawn. These hikes are more difficult that Jordan Pond Path, which is flat.

A flat hike with a huge reward
Apr. 2020
This is not a strenuous hike, but you need to be confident with your footing. Wear your bug spray in the summer months. Sitting by the pond and just enjoying the uninterrupted sounds of nature is blissful. Pack a picnic but understand there are no picnic benches.

My Favorite Hike of All Time
Oct. 2020
Jordan Pond was my favorite part of Acadia.

The two hour hike around the Jordan Pond Path was scenic and a lot of fun. Although we didn't see any animals we did catch a glimpse of some slack liners in the cliffs. There are many areas to stop off for pictures and even have a picnic if you desire. My favorite part of the trail was on the left side of the lake with the wooden walkway. In my opinion it was very unique.

We came in the off-season so we unfortunately did not get to try the famous popovers at Jordan Pond House but we will on our next trip.

Beautiful Easy Walk!
Oct. 2020 • Couples
My husband and I only had one day in Acadia. We started at Sand Beach and hiked up Great Head Trail and then decided to check out Jordan Pond Path. The path loops around the entire pond. The views along the path were absolutely stunning! The pond water is crystal clear. It’s a very easy 3.5 mile walk. This was our first trip to Acadia and I already can’t wait to go back!

We actually biked to this location. Both the ride and the visit were great. This pond is serene and has breathtaking views in the Fall.

The Lake Trail
Oct. 2020
A moderate hike but not to be missed. It took us 1.5 hours at a slow pace, one cannot help stop and take pictures every few steps.

Beautiful biking experience.

We did the 10.9 mile loop around the pond and the lake. The carriage road is packed down gravel . There are some hills but not too over powering. The view of each is breathtaking. There are several spots to capture the scenes of the pond and take pictures. This fall the autumn colors are outstanding. It is a very peaceful and fun ride. We went counterclockwise and avoided large crowds in our direction. A definite must to do!

Beautiful

I didn’t do the hike around the pond due to limited parking. There is plenty of parking at the restaurant and a breathtaking view of the pond with mountains as a backdrop from this location. When you park, walk around behind the restaurant.

Loved hearing the Loons
Sep. 2020
I really enjoyed this loop trail around Jordon Pond. It was the first time I saw and heard a Loon so it was extra special for me. Part of the trail is a bit rocky, but a very small part.
