We hike this loop at least once every time we visit Acadia. After you pass the crowded Sand Beach parking area there are three parking lots from which you can start the loop, in addition to the lot at the head of the Gorham Mountain...More

I did this from the Gorham Mountain Trail car park clockwise, down to Sandy Beach then back on the Ocean Road. You probably need to get to the trailhead by about 9am if you want to park there, but don't stress about it as you...More

This took us about 1.5 hours. We are in our 30s, fit. Took time to take pictures at every scenic outlook, which there were many. If you are choosing between Nikes and hiking shoes for this hike, the winner is hiking boots. LOTS of rocks...More

One of the best hike is the park in our opinion. The views from the top of Gorham Mountain are spectacular.

A friend recommended this trail and I'm so glad since I chickened out on the Precipice and Beehive. This hike was perfect for me with no daring cliffs to scale but still enough of a workout to have to stop once in awhile. The trail...More

We arrived at the parking area about 9:30 on a Sunday and were pleased to find a spot. It was a lovely day and we enjoyed the trail which was well marked and moderately traveled that day. We ended up combining the Bowl trail and...More

We were able to do this trail with out a break even with taking the more aggressive Cadillac Cliff detour, that I would highly recommend if you are ok with climbing rocks and steep terrain.

Rated moderate but two 60+ hikers had no problem conquering this less demanding trail than some of the others. Parked at the parking lot after the Gorham lot and walked back to the trail head along the Sand Beach trail which parallels the loop road....More

We were expecting easy but was definitely moderate and a good workout for fit but older people (nearing 60 or so). Very nice views at the top and along the way. I mean there are some really, really challenging hikes in Acadia - and this...More

Guide Book described it as "Moderate Trail" so up 1 mile to 525 Feet then down one mile to Sandy beach and another 1.2 miles back along Ocean Path to parking sounded easy. Best direction to climb is from the parking lot past Thunder Hole...More

Gorham Mt has it's own parking lot. You can get to it from the park loop road - past Sand Beach. Look for it on the right. Enjoy!!
