This was the first mountain that I hiked in Acadia and I thought it was fantastic. The climb felt fairly short and it was not very difficult but I was happy that I had water with me. The view was amazing. I am still a...More

The round trip from Gorham Mtn Trailhead up the mountain and circling around on Park Loop Road is a little over 3 miles. It is very rocky and takes some focus. Coincidentally we reached the peak at the peak of the solar eclipse. Out of...More

While this is a hike up a mountain, I think it was the easiest of 5 hikes we did in Acadia NP. Our family of 3 has an 11 and 13 year old. It is a gorgeous view as you hike up and from the...More

We took the Northern Gotham Mountain Trail. Begins near sand beach. Same trail head as Bowl Trail. You can also access Beehive from here. It was easy/moderate. A lot of navigating rocks. The views were beautiful of Sand Beach and waves crashing on the coast.

This is a mostly moderate hike, but we went on the Cadillac Cliffs route. It was a little beyond moderate but not difficult. We also continued to Otter Cove, which was also very beautiful.

As opposed to many trail hikes of mountains, getting to the summit isn't necessarily the coup de grace of the hike. There are many different areas that have beautiful views, but I just really liked the whole hike. One thing I will say that I...More

This was our first hike in Acadia and worth it. We took the Cadillac Cliffs trail off of Groham for extra fun. The views from the top are fantastic and our 5 year old completed the hike without difficulty.

We did the Gorham Mountain Trail with our 5 and 6 years olds and it was a blast. We parked at the Gorham Mountain Trail parking area which is clearly marked off the Loop Road. We then hiked the trail and eventually followed signs to...More

An easy-moderate trail, about a mile to the summit and can connect to other trails to continue the journey. The view at the top, along the eastern ocean view of the island was awe inspiring. It is well worth the hike to enjoy a quick...More

While low in elevation, the hike is somewhat challenging and the views from the top are amazing due to the fact it is right on the shoreline. Takes about an hour up and down but we're young so make sure to a lot for more...More

Gorham Mt has it's own parking lot. You can get to it from the park loop road - past Sand Beach. Look for it on the right. Enjoy!!
