Wonderful views of the pink rocky coast of Maine, including driving to the top of Cadillac Mountain. It is best to avoid the heavy crowds of the summer months. Perhaps October would be best because the exhibitions would be open; we just missed them.

ABOSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, and yes practically nothing has changed. All the trails are still pristine and even the moderate ones are good. Take your time and look around, don't be in a rush. There is so much to see. You can plan a whole day @ Jordan Pond Loop and Bubble Rock and hike back for lunch at the Jordan Pond... More

My family and I took a trip to Acadia this summer, and drove on Park Loop Road several times. There are so many places to explore along this route, and the views are amazing. Such a beautiful area. It is definitely a must-do to add to your list when planning a trip to Acadia National Park.

This is such a beautiful drive. If you go into Acadia National Park then you will be taking this road. There are many places to stop at lookout points and take pictures along the way. One of my favorite drives.

The road begins as you climb out of Bar Harbour to Cadillac Mountain. The colors were perfect and man trees were a brilliant red. Leaving the mountain you can continue on the loop road to see and experince the beauty of the area. There are beaches, picnic areas and hiking trails to enjoy. The are areas you drive through thane... More

My wife and I decided on our first day in Acadia to take the loop road to get a feel for the park. Many national parks have loop roads that highlight key destinations or views that you simply can't miss - Acadia did not miss in that category. The views along the drive of the water and surrounding islands was... More

We were there November 1st and only saw about 3 other vehicles on the entire Loop Road, so it only took us about an hour and we stopped at plenty of places. We didn't hike except short walks out to Sand Beach and Jordan Pond and top of Cadillac Mountain. Most of the Loop Drive is one way. The main... More

I've been to several NPs.. I wasn't well researched for this trip... not enough time to explore. However, I was pleased to see that the whole Acadia park loop was 26 miles? ( this trip was several months ago not exactly sure of distance but you get the gist).

This is a great road. It's one way so there are loads of opportunities to pull up. The cliffs are stunning and then as the road turns inland you find a tranquil beaver pond with three lodges.

My first trip to Acadia, and Wow! was I impressed: the Loop was so perfectly laid out for traveling, stopping to view and take pictures, with pull-offs at just the right spots. A lovely drive with easily accessible walks to Thunder Hole, the top of Cadillac Mountain, and Sand Beach. The foliage was beautiful in the fall, and I'm so... More
