The Carriage Roads are perfect for walking, running, or cycling! I think they are perfect for biking. If you have a gravel grinder bike - bring it! I saw many people on rentals and they were doing fine. It's also just a nice pleasant walk.

We stayed at a property backing up to the Carriage Roads which made for very easy access. To say they are well maintained would be an understatement. My husband cycles pretty seriously, I on the other hand, do not. None the less, we set out...More

Two couples who regularly bike 1 to 4 times per week rode the hard packed gravel carriage roads. We rode for 6 hours and covered 29 miles the first day at Acadia. Of course we stopped for the views regularly but we also had to...More

We rented bikes in town and took free shuttle to carriage path. Advertised as a gentle path suitable for seniors we found it more like moderate path with some pretty challenging hills and great scenery. Non hard paved gravel path also can be seen on...More

This may have been my favorite activity of the week! We rented bikes and did a 12mile bike ride around a series of connecting carriage roads. It was difficult in parts, but so worth it for the views. These roads are well trafficked, but not...More

The top/north part of eagle lake is flat & you could spend an hour walking the eastern side down & back. Bubble pond also flat, so either could work nicely.
