This hike was strenuous but not too difficult if you are used to walking. I am 64 years old and like to walk so could cover this loop trail without too much difficulty. You get to see many (7+) arches and some magnificent fins/rock features but you do have to traverse about four spots that have some exposure . I... More

Try the primitive hiking trails but be prepared to climb, scoot and balance your way across the rocks. Keep a watchful eye out for the cairns. They will guide you along your path. The primitive trails have less traffic.

Try the Devils Garden Trail if you are interested in spending a few hours hiking, seeing arches not visible from the road and are in good physical condition. The portion of the trail to Landscape Arch is relatively easy. Past Landscape Arch the trail is more difficult (and sometimes more difficult to find). However, if you are in good physical... More

This hike was much more challenging than I though it would be. We visited Tunnel, Landscape, Partition, Navajo, and Double O arches. The parking lot was about 80% full by around 9pm on a Wednesday morning. There are bathrooms at the beginning but the smell was horrid. GPS tracked our hike at about 4.2 miles. With the exception of Tunnel... More

Arches is not the most strenuous park in the NPS, but the Devils Garden Trail is the most strenuous in Arches. Start early as this one can get hot quickly. You are exposed most of the time. Once you get to the primitive part, be sure to pay attention to the cairns, and you will see arch after arch after... More

Wake up early to see this gem without the crowds! My husband and I geared up and entered Arches NP before the sun. We were on the trail by 7am, dressed in layers with camelback day packs. Only two other hikers were headed in at that point. We even saw some wildlife: mule deer and jack rabbits! It snowed the... More

After reading some of people's responses to this hike, I wasn't too sure if I was going to get lost in the wilderness or what was going to happen. This hike was very easy to follow, lots of cairns, and there were lots of people out there exploring as well. THis was a beautiful hike. I would recommend this to... More

The longest trail loop in Arches, but easy to retrace if it gets too far. Good also for trail running in off season when there aren't too many people. Something new around each corner!. Saw a good many rabbits this January, and deer, who thoughtfully stopped few seconds to allow their picture taken. Allow about an hour and a half... More

Start early (we were in the park by 5:15 am) and enjoyed the MOST spectacular sunrise as it illuminated the silhouette of the formations across the fields on the drive into the park. Then we hit the trail. Being one of the earliest folks on the trail we saw a herd of about 12 deer grazing literal feet from us.... More

The Devil's Garden is perhaps the second most popular destination in Arches National Park next to Delicate Arch. It is also the longest and most rugged maintained trail in the park. It contains the largest concentration of significant natural arches in the world. The Devil's Garden Trail that travels throughout Devil's Garden is over 7 miles (11 km) long and... More
