Given the January weather we just drove the scenic loop and visited the Visitor Center museum but we really enjoyed our visit. You certainly wonder what people traveling thru thought when they got here! The colors and formations make it feel other worldly or something you would see in a sci fi movie. I was amazed at all the tracks... More

Please go, go, go! If at all possible, this is one place everyone should go and see. It looks almost unreal and you tell yourself that what you are looking at is real. I can't imagine people hundreds of years ago coming across this, what they must have thought. This is an education for all.

The Badlands are must see if you are headed out west. They are so beautiful and I have never quite seen anything like it before. Pictures do not do this place justice! The landscape and rocks make you feel like you are on the moon or in a movie. If you are with kids, be sure to look at the... More

The Badlands were absolutely remarkable for both its varied geography and plentiful wildlife. It consists of 244,000 acres of dramatic wilderness. It's the home to grasslands, towering layered rock formations, valleys, steep canyons, bison, big horn sheep, badgers, and prairie dogs. We were fortunate to admire all of the above. The Badlands appeared all the more impressive because they were... More

When entering the National Park you get off at the first viewing spot - without realizing that there is so much more to come. And you always leave with the feeling, you missed out on some of the spots. I did not have that much time (due to driving on towards Mt. Rushmore) - but I took the "Scenic route"... More

Mother Nature at her best. The Badlands are beautiful. Bison, prairie dogs and sunflower fields are a bonus. Riding through on a motorcycle amplified the experience! Truly amazing!

We drove through the Badlands with one thing in mind ... to see a Bison. Well not only did we see several Bison, but we saw two herds of Bighorn Sheep, a million prairie dogs, hawks, horses, and much more! It was a nature wonderland spectacular! Everyone will love this drive for both the geography and the wild life!

My husband and I took our first car road west of Iowa in October. Among our many stops along the way was The Badlands. What an outstanding National Park. The scenery was like we have never seen before. The Loop drive was pleasant and did not take us long to travel. We stopped at many of the lookout points and... More

Fall is a great time to drive through the Badlands. The air is crisp and clear, the crowds are gone, and the views are just as impressive without the oppressive heat. We even got to see a couple big horn sheep rams. What a sight.
