We took our kids on this path this winter. It was just after it had snowed and had melted. So it was slightly slippery and muddy but we had SO much fun. We got to sort through rocks and looked at all the rocks and...More

We were up and down this 200 ft elevation fairly quickly. It is fairly steep and traction is poor at spots. Beautiful view and great place to visit. Badlands are fantastic. Don't miss it.

This trail is very, very steep even though is is not that long. It is doable and worth the time it takes to get to the top for the incredible views. From there, we decided to do the Castle/Medicine trail loops. Was well worth it......was...More

The initial hike up is steep but doable and the views along the way are worth it. The trail connects with others at the top so you can make a good walk out of it. It's not a trail you'd want to do in wet...More

Do not do in sandle/flip flops etc. Good shoes are needed. Climb is awesome. Very steep incline. Lots of lose gravel. Harder coming down than going up. Lots of people just slid down on their bottoms. Gorgeous views going up. Follow blue marker sticks. Bring...More

The ranger said this was a steep climb and she was right. Part of a longer hike we took. This got us access to Castle and Medicine Root Trails. By itself Saddle Pass is not too much, nice views from too.

Yes, we brought our infant (carrying) 5,8,10-year-old here. The path is a little bit strenuous and if it is rainy or snowy it will be slippery but we had fun and mud washes off. My kids had a blast looking at the rocks and... More
