Great formation. Seems like it might just fall off any second, yet it's been there for thousands of years. Use the Wall Street entrance to the Navajo Trail for the best quick look.

To get a good view of Thor's Hammer you need to take the medium difficulty Sunset trail from Sunset Point. Remember to allow enough time to return to the trailhead before darkness falls this time of year. It does not look like it could be...More

Sunset Trail is an easy, accessible point to view Thor's Hammer. It is another amazing rock formation in the land of amazing rock formations. All you Volvo owners will appreciate it!

The hammer is prominently positioned at the front of the amphitheater near sunset point. It's easy to reach on the trail that switchbacks down with numerous opportunities to find interesting photographic compositions along the way.

This is on the navajo trail but you can see it from the top. It does look like his hammer. Nature is amazing and humans are innovative and imaginative.

You can see this rock formation from the start of the Navajo trail, near Sunset Point. It is somewhat similar to Balanced Rock in Arches NP.

It's cool that it stands it from all the other hoodoos, but it's not that cool... but you'll see it from several views in the park!

I was eager to see Thor's Hammer and early on the Navajo Loop Trail, there it was! Absolutely spectacular! It is so wonderful and unusual. At the visitor shop, I was fortunate to find a quilt block of the hammer. It will be fun to...More

You can see this from the very beginning of the Navajo Loop. Pretty cool I guess, but pales in comparison to the larger setting of the amphitheater.
