One of several reviews related to a 20 day Grand Circle tour. We pulled off the road to have an impromptu picnic, only to realize that we'd stumbled upon the Cohab Canyon trail. In the name of full disclosure, because of time limitations we ended...More

We hiked this trail to get to Fry Pan Trail. Cohan is very nice somewhat easy trail. Interesting rock formations, great canyon walls and a combination of sandy to slick rock path.

This trail is not very spectacular and doesn't offer amazing views but it's relaxing enough and allows you to see some quite interesting rock formations on your way. We did this and the Hickman Bridge one after the other and the back to the car...More

After you make it up the steep climb, the canyon opens up to a beautiful hike. The scenery on the trail is "off the hook"

I've never before hiked Cohab Canyon on past trips to Capitol Reef. I'm glad I finally did last week. It's beautiful, and I had it all to myself for the first hour or so (it does get much busier in peak season and later in...More

After a short climb on switchbacks, the trail arrives at the head of a narrow canyon. It initially runs mostly along the bottom of a wash, then goes up to two overlooks of Fruita by hugging the side of the canyon. We enjoyed the opportunity...More

I went on this hike after completing the Hickman Bridge. I was curious but I did not see anything that caught my eye. I went beyond the junction to the campgrounds and decided to turn around because I felt this hike was not that exciting.

We started the hike at 7AM. This is a perfect time as at the beginning of the trail, when it's the harder part (it's a steep path), you are always in the shade. It makes the ascent a little easier. Then, as you arrive in...More

Relatively easy hike up a canyon with a couple of different viewpoints. The rock formations and scenery are great along the entire trail. This was our favorite hike in the park.
