the main petroglyphs where impressive, but we only found one other, smaller one along the boardwalk, rather high on the wall (2nd foto). As the weather wasn't very good, we did'nt went any further to discover more art...

We did a "ranger talk" at this location which was helpfully and informative. It was an easy stop. It's located right on HWY# 24.

Along Route 24, east of the visitor center, you'll see a very popular turnout. Here, there is a boardwalk along the mountain face that has a number of great examples of the petroglyphs that are found throughout this area. These are as preserved as they can be (mother nature is taking her toll on them - note in one of... More

I recently visited the Fremont Petroglyphs while visiting Capitol Reef National Park in September. This attraction is easily missed when you drive in the park, so be sure to prepare and stop by. The petroglyphs are easily seen via a constructed walkway that allows you to have a good view of them. The walkway veers to your right and you... More

Depending on where the sun is located the view of the petroglyphs changes. These ones are well preserved.

We stopped here to view the petroglyphs and so glad we did. It is a very easy pull-off and is wheelchair friendly with a flat, short boardwalk. There really are no other words that can describe these amazing, rare and precious pieces of history, other than mesmerizing. You can find yourself wanting to know what the stories were that were... My wife and I viewed these wall carvings in mid-October 2016 while visiting Capitol Reef NP on a five-park tour of Utah’s national parks. These are wonderful and bizarre petroglyphs, demonstrating the early canyon dweller’s commitment to such carvings. Many are high up the cliffs and some are recognizable as representations, while others are so strange as to make one... More

A short flat walk from the car park. Most can be seen with the naked eye but a pair of binoculars opens up more of these beautiful drawings.

The petroglyps are wonderful, but you are not allowed to climb up and view them up close. You can only enjoy their distant view from the short broadwalk built below them. If petroglyphs are of your major interest, you may want to visit other sites where you are allowed to hike to them and see them from very close right... More
