We weren't expecting or aware of the Pioneer Register, so, at first sight from a distance, we were appalled, thinking this was just people carving their names and nonsense into the rock, but we were then advised otherwise. A nice easy walk to get to...More

What a great display of history. Not only was this cool but the drive and easy hike in to see it was awesome. Driving thru tall canyon walls in basically a wash for flooding then walking in the same for about another mile to reach...More

Thought it was fake at first until hubby explained it. Worth stopping on this easy hike and thinking about who traveled the same route.

This is worth the very easy hike. Makes you wonder how they got up there to write their names. It is almost in a slot canyon, but not quite narrow enough to qualify. Easy one for the kids too!

This is a feature on the Capitol Gorge trail, and it is about half a mile from the trailhead in the parking lot. At first we thought it was just a regrettable case of recent graffiti carved about 10’ high in the sandstone walls of...More

Easy hike. Where the register is at is not well marked but its pretty easy to find. The names are easy to read. There are other petroglyps on this same trail.

So easy to miss if you are not looking out for it. This is just before the tanks. Quite high on the walls. Just looks like graffiti really. Doesn't look very special but it is part of history. This is the history inscription as well...More
