Wonderful place to start your visit to Capitol Reef. They will give you information on all kinds of stuff. They can tell you the best hikes for you and provide you with maps. And they can answer questions. We learned lots of good information.

A good idea to stop and get some info on the park before continuing about. Bathrooms and gifts available also.

Everything about the Capitol Reef National Park is in place. Very informative and well organised. There are maps outside the center.

We went to Capitol Reef Visitor Center. This is a smaller size visitor center where one can see exhibits and a movie. Rangers are there to answer one's question. One can also get a park map.

Just off the main highway (24). Lots of information available and helpful staff. Ample parking available, restrooms and water fountain to fill your bottles.

Beautiful scenery from the visitor centre itself and regulate informative talks. Can also fill up your water bottles here - and you need plenty for the hikes. Nice friendly people.

I would not park at the visitor center. The parking lot is small and gets full. I would drive to the Gifford Ranch Area. There is a huge parking area there and this time of year you should find a space easily for your... More

You can drive the hiway 24 through the park and the paved portion of the scenic drive, but you can't legally drive it on non paved roads.
