The best time to visit is in the morning, earlier the better. The view of the rock formations and across the valley are breathtaking. One of the best views in Death Valley. It's only a short but uphill hike from the parking lot to the...More

What a place! The path is well constructed to give you the best possible view of the rock formations which are the most amazing I have ever seen. It is worth fighting the incredibly high temperatures (we visited in August) to climb the hill!

This is another must see while at DV. You can park and walk to the overlook. The views are just awesome! Not a bad walk to top, even in 118 degree temps. Coming down is easy and getting to top is worth it!

This place has a viewing point to see some amazing rock formations. My husband and sons did the climb while I hid in the car. It is not for people who are unsure... As the slope is long and you have to weigh up the...More

Have to stop here on your way through Death Valley. It's right next to the road so you can't miss it. Spectacular.

The landscape at Zabriskie Point is really incredible. There is a big parking lot with toilets just off the road. From the parking lot to the actual viewing area leads a short uphill pathway suitable for everyone. You should bring a bottle of water with...More

This was our first stop in the park. The views and landscape are amazing. Make sure to bring water! It's hot. We went during summer. Parking is easy with a short hike to the top.

I can really see how this made the top 10. It was 109 degrees F on the day we visited so we were pleased to have hats. There is a short walk from the car park to the viewing area. Fantastic views.

My husband and I would like to visit Death Valley from 13 - 16th February, 2017. We will be driving a hired car (so no snow tyres and no chains allowed) Can the roads be snow covered? What areas of sight seeing are on cleared roads? We would love to see desert scenery with snow covered mountains. We are in our 70's and this is our only opportunity so any useful advice to make the most of our visit will be appreciated.

Usually the only snow you'll find in Death Valley area are on the high peaks. Therefore, most of Death Valley roads are accessible during winter months. You will see dessert scenery with snow covered mountains. I highly... More
