We did the shuttle bus all the way out to Wonder Lake - and we were lucky enough to have a CLEAR, SUNNY day with Mt. Denali completely exposed (we are in the 10% club) I expected more out of Wonder Lake - apparently, I...More

The lake was bigger than I expected. Everything in Denali is big, even the mosquitos. We gorged on blueberries at the lake and looked for loons but never saw them. Rain and clouds kept the lake and reflections from being beautiful (as I saw in...More

"weather permitting" is a phrase you read a lot about being able to see Mount Denali. This is supposed to be one of those amazing spots and while I didn't see Denali from here, I did see some of it through the clouds on the...More

Come here to see the Alaskan Range from afar - there are no obstacles to block the view. I went to Kinley Bar trail to see the Mountains - there's McKinley river at the base of the valley. The base to Mountain elevation is very...More

On the way back from the Kantishna Wilderness trails tour we saw a bull Moose in the middle of the lake. Got some great photos.

Despite the wind and rain I still enjoyed Wonder Lake and its amazing reflective capabilities. The shuttle was comfortable and the driver excellent.

Wonder Lake is just down the road from the Kantishna Roadhouse & the other remote lodges in the Denali National Park. We hiked it a couple of times from the Lodge & walked up Blueberry Hill viewpoint. Beautiful place to view Denali in all his...More

From a scenery perspective, this is worth 10 stars! Absolutely stunning. The campground is also amazing in that it has a food prep area with a food storage shed to keep smells and goodies localized and away from your tent. Additionally, bathrooms have flush toilets...More

Such a pretty mountain lake however, it was overcast the day we were here so we didn't see the mountains nor reflections. We hiked Blueberry Hill and enjoyed all the flora but there wasn't much fauna...there were a couple of Horned grebes and Loons on...More

There is only one bus route. Wonder Lake is about three miles or so from the literal "end of the road", about 90 miles in.

I would call the park. There are campsites at wonder lake that are pretty basic. You go on a school bus. I can't remember how many they run during the day, but more than one as it takes several hours to get to wonder... More
