Would have loved to canoe on Wonder Lake but there were no rentals. Seems a bit funny that all the brochures show people in canoes on Wonder Lake. The area is beautiful and Mt. McKinley can be seen in the reflection of the lake.

If you're lucky enough to arrive at Wonder Lake on a clear day you will be enthralled with the view of THE mountain. We were also lucky enough to be there when the spring wildflowers were in bloom. It was a view not to be...More

A few comments on Wonder Lake in early June '15. Great trip out with Omar driving but if time is short stick with Eielson. The views are similar and we just didn't feel that Wonder Lake offered that much more to the overall trip experience...More

beautiful views of Mt Mckinley; but did not catch any trout. We were able to access this area by bus on way into the park. We then came back to the area via van [5 miles]. Biking to and from was quite exhilerating.

A lovely location, but the mosquitos can, and will, carry you away, if you aren't sufficiently protected with chemicals. It was still worth it.

We hiked around wonder lake. It's really pretty and peaceful there. There was a beaver building a dam and the color of the water is stunning. Definitely a fun thing to do when you are visiting the park.

This was a wonderful stopping point of the park bus loop. The water was so clear, but still a little too cold to take a dip. Beautiful views and vegetation to explore. Would have liked to take a camper and stayed over. Saw a lot...More

Had it been a nicer day I think this would have been a good place to take a less strenuous hike, It was very pretty but not worth the extra time on the bus for us. By this time the bus was getting a little...More

There is only one bus route. Wonder Lake is about three miles or so from the literal "end of the road", about 90 miles in.

I would call the park. There are campsites at wonder lake that are pretty basic. You go on a school bus. I can't remember how many they run during the day, but more than one as it takes several hours to get to wonder... More
