Long bumpy ride but would do it again in a minute except when the road is icey.

The road can be scary at times when passing another bus on the side of a cliff but the drivers are very experienced. The animal sightings and mountain views are amazing.

No trip to Alaska could be complete without traveling the Park Road in Denali. We took the 8 hour trip instead of the 12 hour trip. The buses are not luxury coaches. One did get "butt" weary by the end but it was so worth it. Our drive right/guide made it his personal mission to be sure we saw the... More

Don't understand how they made this incredible road through the mountains, and how they keep this packed gravel road in such good condition. The bus drivers are incredible. Such fun to watch for wildlife, see the incredible mountains and valleys, and thank .god for making such a beautiful place.

buses from chalet were booked by Holland America. The lady driver was very experienced ... we stopped for moose sightings a few times...Then a bear eating berries came close to the bus and walked across the road to eat more ..WOW ..

We were in the bus at 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM. It was a long but very interesting day on an old School Bus with a very knowledgeable driver named Kevin. We had several rest breaks for latrine stops plus we stopped several times for animal viewing. The lunch at the turn around point was very good and the Dog... More

Took the Tundra Wilderness Tour. Driver gave an amazing narration of the park while trying to spot the all elusive animals. Amazed to see so much wildlife....grizzly bear, caribou, moose, ptarmigan. What more can you say. This place is a must see!

The trip down the Denali Park Road is an all-day (12+ hour) round trip, but very worthwhile. You'll need to do it on a bus; I recommend one of the tour companies that do a trip from the park entrance to Kantishna. The road itself is unpaved, and more of a 1.5 lane road, making opposing traffic on portions of... More

I am so glad that we took the bus in to the park during our stay in Denali. The colors in early September are just the best. I can't imagine going my entire life and never seeing this beauty. I feel so blessed that I could afford to come visit this little slice of heaven.

You can pick the length of your ride. Go to at least Eielson Visitor center. The views and wildlife between Toklat and Eielson make it worth the extra time. The visitor center is nice place to have lunch. Bring extra water. Both times i've gone the water has been out. The road is gravel after Savage river but is well... More

A well maintained gravel road takes one about 90 miles into Denali National Park. When two busses pass on essentially a one lane road on a mountain pass several hundred feet above the river, one must trust his driver. They are worthy of that trust.
