Be sure to get there early for the demonstration. That way you can visit the dogs and take pictures before the crowds get there. The demonstration was very educational and fun to watch.

We got to the parks visitor center and bought the shuttle bus tickets for the next day and thought we will join the free tour and glad we did. The time was well spent, you get to meet the working dogs and learn about their routine and lifestyle. They will also do a demo sled for us to show how... More

My wife and I got back from our bus tour just in time to make it to the demonstration. The demonstration itself doesn't last all that long but it is neat to see how they work with the dogs. The speaker also gave a lot of information about the park itself. After the demonstration we checked out the buildings and... More

This was unexpectedly one of my favorite experiences in Denali National Park. The dogs are so lovable and get excited when it comes time to choose the select few for the demonstration. The rangers do a great job of explaining the role of sled dogs in the park. This attraction is free, but arrive early to the shuttles so you... More

Really cool experience. I was there at the end of October so the dogs were already training with ATV for the winter m, but we still got to chill with and pet the dogs. The dogs are REALLY nice and once they smell your hand, you can pet them, rub them, and even take selfies with them!

Pricey, but worth every penny Got a great understanding of how the dogs are bred, and 2.5 mile ride with them pulling the sled. Even "drove" the sled although with some restraint by the organizers. The chopper ride from town to the glacier and back is 25% of the experience too

This was a great experience for me to see because I have had sled dogs and raced them in New Jersey on snow courses with an Alaskan Dog Sled so I know how hard you have to train the dogs and yourself to endure the hardships of the trails that you race against the clock on. You may ask what... More

Put on by National Park Service Rangers who apparently provide care for the dogs and equipment as well. The narration and explanations about the use of dogs in Denali during the winter is very well done. The kennel areas are also open to the excited dogs. There is also a small room devoted to some history and dog sledding in... More

Great side trip, highly recommend. Note, if taking the 1.9 mile hike from the Visitor/Trans Center to the Sled Dog Demo area, it seemed like it was all up hill!
