To fill a morning, I took a shuttle to the Visitor Center only to find myself in time to hop a bus to the Park's free Sled Dog demonstration. Our bus encountered a mother moose and her two young on the road which held us up gawking for a time then on we went. On arrival, a Park ranger boarded... More

Loved the dog sled demonstration. I went in June and they put wheels under the sled and gave a wonderful demonstration. Amazing to see how people live in -40 degrees with 4-6 feet of snow on the ground.

We caught a shuttle bus to see the sled dogs, and my younger siblings really enjoyed it, you can interact with the dogs, who are all very friendly. Then after a few minutes everyone heads over to the stands, and the ranger explains the background to the dog teams and why they need them. As soon as the rangers ran... More

We've been to quite a few ranger programs @ various Nat'l parks - this particular presentation could be improved to share "more facts" about the dogs, sleds, history, etc. It's a really unique piece of the park and honestly, I learned more from the audience Q/A than from the ranger's initial presentation. I'd suggest skipping the 'where's everyone from' time... More

It was very interesting to get to meet with the dogs, and speak with the people that train and care for them. You learn a lot about the history of the dogs in the park, and them part that they still play today.

Very impressed by all the people who work with these dogs! They seem to love what they do, and the dogs are very receptive to them. Was fun to pet the dogs.

We thought that this was a fun demonstration. We hiked over to it on the Rock Creek Trail and got there early. Early enough to see the dogs who all looked as if they had just eaten Thanksgiving dinner and were wiped. Some were sleeping , some were just lazily lounging. Then we gathered in the bleachers, the Ranger asked... More

We took the shuttle one way and a ranger led hike the other way in order to attend the demo. I would recommend just walking on your own and showing up early to pet the dogs before the show. Though the walk is a couple of miles, it is the fastest way to get there. Our presentation was given by... More

This was one of our highlights during our stay in Denali...and cannot believe it was free! The dogs are just doggone loving and adorable. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we were able to pet and hug on the dogs. Our young daughter just loved loved loved Zahnie. Every time she tried to walk away he would paw at... More

Pleasantly surprised at the amount of information provided along with being allowed to visit with and pet the dogs.
