This was the best place we found to get an elevated view of the Everglades. It's a very short boardwalk (about five minutes to walk the whole thing), but the lookout tower give a lovely view, especially if you are a bird watcher. There was...More

This a short trail about a 45 minute drive from the visitor center. There is a high overlook that gives you the view to see the reason this place is called the Everglades. Be sure to bring a camera.

Walk on boardwalks to overlook, nice view, easy walking. The whole trail is only about 1/4 mile. Stop on your way to or from Flamingo

A very short boardwalk trail. Some parts are elevated so you can see far across the grasslands. A nice quick stop but nothing amazing in my opinion. I imagine would make a great stop around sunset/sunrise though.

This was not as busy as the Anhinga trail. It's really breath taking. 8 miles wide the view is breathtaking. It looks like a prairie out west but underneath is the Shark River Slough. It's amazing to look out from the observation platform and think...More

If you are looking for a good area for sunrise over the dwarf cypress this is the spot. The elevated boardwalk provides excellent views of the habitat. Best views of the sunrise are on the access road.
