Great moderate day hike

Really enjoyed this hike-- Pit toilets at the top and a great place to stop and enjoy the view, picnic, etc. Some people swim, but the water is just above freezing... :-O

Lives up to its name.

It's a small lake, filled with mini-icebergs. Well worth the hike. You won't see anything like it elsewhere in the lower 48.

Lovely hike to an iceberg studded cold lake

This hike is very popular especially during high season. Start early around 8:30 am to beat the crowds. Dress for unpredictable mountain weather and bring food and water. Early in the season, the upper parts of the trail are snow covered so use caution.

no more icebergs, but still beautiful

There were no icebergs in the lake in late September, but the hike was gorgeous with the fall colors and expansive vistas. There are some shady areas and some exposed areas. Well worth half a day to hike this one.
