An offshoot of the Grand Canyon, Havasu Canyon has been home to the Havasupai Tribe for the past 800 years. With water being the especially precious commodity that it is in the desert, the Havasupai consider the source of this river to be a sacred...More

WOW! This was an incredible and challenging hike. The grade wasn't difficult and there was no climbing involved, it was just long and hot. My husband and I are in our early 40s, work out regularly and this was a surprising challenge for us. The...More

This was a great trip, with challenging hikes and awesome views. I would recommend using a guide service (we used AOA) and hiking down to the canyon. The hike in and out are about 10 miles each way and rigorous but well worth it. The...More

I just recently visited Havasupai for the first time from April 14th to 16th and although it is amazingly beautiful there, I couldn't get something off my mind. The horses and mules at Havasupai are mistreated and abused. While hiking down through the canyon I...More

We started out in the dark as we heard it was a tough hike. We ran into a couple guys on the way out and they needed water so we gave them some. They were very happy for it. Let me step back first and...More

I hold memories of this place in my heart, from the first time I visited in 1969. I have been back two more times, although the most recent was in the 1980's before it became more crowded. I can't comment on the conditions there now,...More

I was with a rafting tour on the Colorado in early June 2016. The guides stopped at Havasu Canyon. We hiked about 1.5 mile to beautiful turquoise pools. The place is spectacular. The guides mention the water is light blue from calcium carbonate upstream. We...More
