Great trail of the canyon!

This trail is great because you can see the canyon the whole way! You can do just a portion of it or all the way! We only did 2 miles since we were with our kids but even they... read more

Hiked to the 1.5 mile rest house with 3 young children. It was a beautiful hike and the kids made it with some carrying of the 5 year old. View didn't change much on way down to first stop, but it was a nice view. Afterwards a ranger recommended South Kaibab if going on a short hike and Bright Angel... More

Our last day of a 5 day Hermit Loop hike we had to exit the Grand Canyon by going up the Bright Angel Trail. Everything I read about this trail made it seem like a breeze. After 4 days of hard trekking I thought, finally an easy last day. I was so wrong! This trail looks to be very easy... More

This was a beautiful trail to hike on. The trail was maintained well. The hike was a challenge but do-able if you are in decent shape. Just take your time--take breaks and bring plenty of water and food. I did not give 5 stars because it was pretty crowded. We did the Hermit Trail which was much less crowded--it was... More

This is one of the very best hikes of my life! The scenery constantly changes as you descend into the canyon. If you are in good shape and carry water the hike down to Phantom Ranch and back up (via the same trail or the shorter south Kaibab trail) is easily done in one day. We have done this hike six... More

This trail decents into the canyon and gets you to the Colorado River and Phantom Ranch. It is less steep than South Kaibab Trail and much more walkable/runable though also 2 miles longer.

If you are in pretty good shape then this is a great trail to hike. The trail is well maintained and there is no way to get lost. It is wide enough for 3 people but be careful of tired hikers who might bump you as the fall is pretty steep. Bring water and snack bars. The day I went,... More

If your want to experience the Grand Canyon in a completely different light.... Do this hike! We hiked down to the Indian gardens, said it was roughly 5 miles down and so to do a round trip would take you 7-9 hours, but anybody could easily do it in 5! 2 drink stops on the way! Constantly amazing views! Definitely... More

I feel a huge sense of accomplishment to hike up the Bright Angel trail! A struggle both physically and mentally, and I made it! Pay attention to ALL the warnings and suggestions put out by National Park Service, this is not a trip to be taken lightly, but definitely worth it.
