Grand Canyon Village

There are many eateries, shops here as well as the footpaths/trails to get down further into the canyon. A walk along the rim is ideal to see the true depth of the canyon.

We enjoyed the day we spent in the village. But it is not a cheap venture. Food is especially expensive and really only so-so for the price.

It was very easy to get around along the rim. The free shuttle bus service also made it easy to get to all the must see places.

See the movie and visit the Visitor Center. The scenery is awesome. The village store has lots to purchase and moderately priced. Best thing is it all goes back to the Park.

Wow is all I can say. We got there late Sunday, checking in to the Maswik lodge. Room was clean and ready. Keurig was nice. Monday we got an early start and visited Hermits rest via car since it was still open to cars. It closes the first week of March and only busses are allowed. Beautiful views before the... More

All the lodges and restaurants are here. I believe this is where you also can book a train ride (2 hours) to Williams. Did not do this due to time constraints. Typical tourist destination with gift shops, etc. Very clean.

The village is quaint and devoid of very much luxury, save the El Tovar Lodge and restaurant, but it is everything that you would expect. There are many touristy/gimmicky places, but that is also to be expected. There are buses that run all day for free, so there is no real need to drive (except for to dinner because the... More

The Grand Canyon Village is the whole of the South Rim. The village houses all the lodges, campgrounds, stores and information centers. In short, if you are visiting the South Rim of the grand canyon, which is where most tourists go, you will pass through and be part of the village for those precious days. (Yes it takes more than... The village has many things to do and see. Would suggest staying at El Tovar if at all possible. There are other places to stay that are not as expensive, but they are not as beautiful. There are also several eating establishments, and we felt that price wise they were fine. You will also find several museums and shops along... More

The description of the Village can be taken a few ways. The Village includes the main areas with lodges and the El Tovar Hotel. It also covers things like others have mentioned, which is a grocery store with a large gift shop and a deli. Taking a walk from the El Tovar down to the Bright Angel Lodge is a... More
