We stopped here to visit the book store, gift shop and also picked up some food (reasonably priced) for a picnic lunch.

We checked out the visitor center with a lot of things to look at. Plus a book store where you can get another stamp for your passport. You can rent bikes or catch a shuttle.

We went by shuttle to Mohave Point and on foot via Powell Point back to Village. A lot of tourists there. Amazing sightseeing flight over Canyon was much better. Amazing nature could we see from the plane.

When visiting the Grand Canyon, there's so much to see and in the village, there are many shops, museums and eateries to complement this. There is Native American art, high quality souvenirs and good food for any traveller.

There were lots of people with dogs on leashes when we were there so I'd say the answer is yes. Make sure you have a really good leash because there are a lot of places with no guard rails.
