Many of the Grand Canyon's most spectacular panoramas can be viewed along this scenic drive, including Point Imperial and Cape Royal itself (elevation 7,865 feet,) the southernmost viewpoint on the North Rim.

There is so much scenery and not enough adjectives to describe it. The drive is wonderful, the views overwhelming. Angels Window was a surprise. Be sure to take the Cliff Springs Trail on your way out.

I'm sure you've heard the North Rim has greater solitude & smaller crowds. One of the best things to see on the North Rim is the drive out to Cape Royal. On the way you will have a number of viewpoints to stop and admire....More

This is a must take drive at the north rim. I would never have guessed that this drive would provide spectacular turnout views frequently, and a spsectacular walk at the end to multiple breath taking views. I thought these views were better than those from...More

A nice twisty road that travels through densely wooded areas of pine, aspen and box elder. You can spot wildlife along the drive. There's a couple of viewpoints along the way that provide different perspectives of the canyon.

This is my favorite viewpoint in the North rim. There are a number of great spots to enjoy. The road is a little on the tight side, so watch for other cars & especially RV's.

Absolutely outstanding views. Pleasantly uncrowded. Better than views from the lodge, in our opinion. Easy trail.

We drove from the lodge stopping at the outlooks until we reached Cape Royal. Beautiful sights along the way and a nice one mile hike at the point. Took us about 3 hours round trip including many stops for short walks and pictures

Much like neighboring Point Imperial, this overlook is approximately a seventeen mile drive from the Grand Canyon Lodge and offers amazing views of Point Imperial, Temple of Vishnu, Wanton's Throne, and the canyon itself. The drive to Cape Royal is beautiful on its own, with...More
